Thought I'd give this a try since I haven't had room for a piano. There is a learning curve as the sheet music is in a unique format but there's lots of YouTube videos for those willing to give it an honest try! There are free apps as well to assist with ensuring your instrument remains in tune (Mine arrived perfectly tuned!) I'm enjoying this new musical path and love that it's portable. I've taken it to park and practiced while enjoying the outdoors. This light weight instrument is very reasonably priced and loads of fun to learn! Doesn't matter the type of music, I've found country tunes, soft rock, all the way to heavy metal people have written for this instrument. Have fun with it and perhaps create something unique as well

Another small instrument to play with. Quality construction, wonderful sound. I enjoy learning how to play it.

We got this for our son (and so I can play around with it too). I understand a bit what some people are saying with the end notes being flat. But I mean, the tongs are really short to be higher pitch so they're not going to ring out as well as the longer, lower notes. They're also farther from the central hole which is what helps give the nice reverberation. That said, I'm not displeased. It functions as expected and has a pretty nice sound. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have sharps or flats, so you can only play things in the key of C. But it's a beginner instrument, so that isn't totally unreasonable. It also has a beautiful look to it. All in all, I'm impressed with the quality for the price point and we'll have lots of fun with it.

This does work it's kind of fun to play around with, more suitable for a child. I gave it to my college aged daughter for her instrument collection. She's polite and says she likes it but she uses her guitar and ukulele all the time versus this ... which is pretty much never. It was packaged beautifully and the concept is cool.

We love music in our house this has been easy and fun to use for the children! Because wood! The craftsmanship is beautiful done! The keys make a beautiful sound! I do have to say sometimes the keys move around but they are easy to put back.

This is a nice wooden Kalimba that will work best for children. It looks nice, and comes in a beautiful children themed box. It doesn't work for me because I needed a Kalimba that will provide a better fit for larger teenage and adult sized hands. Also, I have owned many Kalimba's before and I found that this one doesn't produce a similar quality tone resonance. However, I believe it will work well for children who will see it more as a toy and not a musical instrument. I returned the Kalimba to Amazon.

Not very good. You'll think it's decent and you'll probably convince yourself to buy it because it's cheap. You'll read wonderful reviews here. Then you'll get it home and it'll sound tinny and lame and you'll put it on the shelf in the room you don't go in very often. Then one day 10 years from now you'll find it in a cupboard somewhere and move it to the shed outside. There it will rust, warp and fall apart and when you move house you'll chuck it in the bin. Brief summary. Just for you: it sucks don't buy it.
