Active Noise Cancelling Headphones, H501 Wired Stereo Over Ear Headphones with Microphone and Volume Control, 50 Hours Battery Time, Travel Case Included

From a physical design, comfort and cables / attachments this is a good buy. I purchased this as a replacement after giving away a Sony headset costing £30. The headphones comes with travel case. The extra packing box(s) out weighs the actual travel-case and headphones, so the manufacturer went to a significant cost to make this a gift to the purchaser event at the cost of £49 - which is very different from other manufacturers. I have very expensive Bose noise cancellation headset which is x5 times the cost of this headset - which my baseline for comparison. I am also an Electronics engineer so I am very versed with electronic / audio components.I am pleasantly surprised with this product in many ways but slightly disappointed with the 92% noise cancellation claim of 92%, which in itself is so difficult to prove or disprove :-)1. The following work out of the box:- a. A single AAA battery is provided b. The headphone ear covers are soft, comfortable and covers the ears - so much better than my slightly cheaper Sony - bonus for sure c. The controls for the iPad: Vol +/- & pause all work on my Spottify app d. The microphone also works for audio calls e. I did not go for Bluetooth in this model, by choice, This is a wired headphones f. You are provide with 2 headphone leads which are around 2m, which is quite generous g. The headphones work with the noise cancellation disabled - this is both good and bad. Good because if you have no battery you have a great pair of stereo headphones. The bad: There is some extra but not significantly boosted noise cancellation when the switch is enabled but without music h. With music playing I am pleasantly surprised with the level of quietness provided. I was in the kitchen for the unboxing and I used the microware to warm a coffee and to my surprise I was not hearing the microware operating at all with the noise-cancellation enabled. The microware was slightly audible with the noise-can disabled. That is very good performance.I am not able to state its performance after say 1 month, but I am very very please with the quality and performance at this price-point.I would give it 4.5 stars as I would have expected a more significant boost in noise cancellation with the NC enabled but again his is not a scientific test to prove or disprove the manufacturer.For a great product at a brilliant price-point this is the "bee's knees" and I would recommend it

For me I found them, after an hour or so, very uncomfortable on the ears. Apart from this issue, for me, they did a very good job.The two supplied connecting leads from these earphones I found useful one for the iPod Touch, (in my case) and the other to plug into my Windows 10 computer. I have not yet tried them with the iMac.

I love these. You can hear a bit of background noise but when you remove them you realise just how effective they are. You do need high vokume to hear clearly whatever you are listening to. I would absolutely recommend these.

On two 11 hr journeys the noise reduction capability was well tested and very well justified. Headphone quality was also very good. For the price it was excellent value for money.
