Great cage.Hammy loves it.
Researched around and this cage got good reviews from hamster experts. Not the best but at least a 7/10 and no serious problems .At £25 a bargain.£45 is the full price and pets at home and other suppliers were selling it at this higher price.(I.m.o.it is certainly worth £45. Received very quickly from Amazon.and then assembly!!! I had heard it is a touch difficult to assemble and I never assemble anything and am totally useless so a challenge for me,in fact I did not think I will be able to do it and would have to ask my sister! The box was very solid and all pieces were laid out very clearly and a large visual and descriptive instruction sheet. I found the pictures not big enough, not colored enough, the instructions I found difficult to understand, however I started with step 1 and that bit was incredibly easy as all the sections just snap into place.I kept going and soon reverted to looking at the big picture on the box to guide me which was much easier in forgetting instructions and just doing it myself. Shock and surprise I completed it,perfect and secured and tested. Took about an hour. In 2 or 3 sessions. Because it was so easy and satisfying I almost enjoyed it,I was very impressed with myself. I think it could be assembled in 15 minutes but with a confused idiot like myself it took longer. The cage is very solid, very secure and looks a beautiful design on my table.Although it has bars it is very attractive with the wonderful color scheme and geometric Criss cross levels. Some hamster experts said it was too small or that it should be long and flat rather than upright with lots of levels. I purchased my single Syrian hamster(£10 from pets at home,a bargain and the hamsters looked very well kept,I don't like buying from pet shops but pets at home are the only exception) My hamster loves his cage,he sleeps in his bedroom at the top and enjoys the challenge of going up and down the different levels(there are 6 floors of fun),the wheel is well built and extremely quiet. I can see as my Syrian becomes fully grown I may want a bigger wheel or a bigger cage but so far, hamster and me are very happy. My first rodent so I saw this as a starter cage and at £25 I did not feel I could go wrong. To keep one Syrian it is ideal(never have 2 Syrians together),for other hamsters maybe 2 or 3,even more with the tiny ones.Too small for Guinea pigs.buy it

Absolutely amazing 🐹
I recently purchased the hamster cage, and I must say, it's quite impressive. The spacious design is a definite plus, offering plenty of room for my furry friend to explore and play. One standout feature that I adore is the little bed at the top of the cage. It adds a cozy touch to the environment, and my hamster seems to enjoy it too. However, I have to mention that assembling this cage was a bit of a nightmare. The instructions weren't as clear as I would have liked, and it took longer than expected to put together. But once it was finally assembled, I could see the quality of the materials used. It feels sturdy and well-made, which is crucial for the safety and comfort of my pet. Despite the assembly challenges, I trust that my hamster will enjoy its new home. The spaciousness and thoughtful design make it an excellent choice, and I'm looking forward to seeing my furry friend thrive in this cage.

It is a good size and good shape! My hamster thinks it is entertaining
I bought this cage because of the fact that the last cage i had for my hamster was eaten all the way through! I bought this cage and got my hamster a new home in the next too days! Its relatively light and therefore definitely not difficult to transport around. In addition, the shape which is rather boxy which makes it much easier to be able to carry. easy to assemble: This took me around half an hour to build. the issue with the building definitely isn't the design but more to do with not being able to easily install the platforms as they have to click onto the wires and this really hurts fingers! do not let a child do this by themselves as its very easy to hurt yourself! easy to clean: obviously, because of the layers of this cage its not exactly easy to clean however, when cleaning a hamster cage you really should only clean dirty areas to reduce stress. The nest which i find becomes the filthiest first is rather easy to clean. Personally i leave some of the bedding from the original nest in each nest. sturdiness: this cage has been absolutely fine so far... however, i see a potential problem emerging with the doors on the side and the top of the cage. i feel like, with substantial use especially on the side door, it may become slightly use and allow my hamster to escape. Thankfully I have a Syrian hamster and this is definitely too small to fit through. Issues for hamsters: This cage is certainly not suitable for a pregnant hamster there are too many areas to fall off of. Additionally, i wouldn't say it is a good cage for babies or maybe even dwarf hamsters. overall! its a great cage to be able to entertain your hamster. My hamster hasn't tried to eat any of the cage... however, i found a good way of detering your hamster from eating your cage is to wipe the area of the cage which the hamster to trying to eat with lemon and vinegar juice. Its a little bit like the stuff which you put on children's nails to stop them biting them for hamsters. My hamster though LOVES the nest. and its adorable to see Milo with sleepy eyes in the nest at the top. However, enter the nest rarely and sparingly or they might get deterred from living there!

Great product for under £30 - nice features - just a few niggles
This Pico Rosewood cage is generally a very good product. Little Bolt seems happy enough. [ UPDATE 3 AT 10m... Was bored :)] Pros... Wire cage: this is strong with narrow gaps as per specification. Floors: 4 floors plus basement and penthouse bedroom :). Basement: whole base is open (apart from the lower half of the wheel) and partly covered by floor 1 Penthouse: early days, visited by Bolt, but not sleeping there yet (original bedding now placed there) [update: little bit of apple and he's now sleeping in the penthouse! Yay] [Tip: a juicy finger covered in apple juice IS an apple to a hamster - and it darn well hurts like hell!] Ramps: Nicely designed, seem to function well (Bolt explored immediately) Access: this is via two 'gates' - on top, the other at the side - and via penthouse lid Features: includes removable water bottle, feeding bowl, wheel, penthouse bedroom, ramps etc. Cons... Wire cage is easy to assemble, but a little too narrow to have the lower floor at one end. DO CHECK: the other end seemed wider and would have fitted better (the little hooks seemed to be slightly different shape?) DO NOT be tempted to adjust (bend out) the wire hooks - they will break at the nearest welded point!!! Check-fit of floor 1 first (it's the last step normally - and I couldn't be bothered to turn the other floors around!) The side clips are difficult to operate, but are safe and strong at least! [+10m UPDATE: one clip snapped - don't force them, push the bars down first, then probably fine] Requires the cage wire to be flexed. The gates are secure, though awkward to 'lock', but again safe. They spring into position rather loudly. The wheel is rather [VERY] noisy - it is [VERY] loose on the axle and rattles a lot! Not suitable for a bedroom! (I am working on this tomorrow - hopefully a plastic washer and maybe vaseline???). [Update: don't think this is going to be fixable - very loose, difficult to access (without removing cage from the base), difficult to remove from spindle. Spindle is plastic, might snap - as instruction warns.] Else would suggest removing it and getting a silent one! 'conical', which is a shame! [If cage is in a bedroom, would advise NOT fitting the wheel, but add a different, silent one from the outset] [UPDATE 2 - FINAL!: replaced wheel with a "silent" one - BUT, when fixed to the cage tends to vibrate the whole cage! When fixed to the stand, it gradually drifted along the base until it met something. Much better wheel, but needs to be weighted or fixed in position. PRO: with the original wheel removed, the upper cage can be placed on a flat surface] With all the ramps (which hinge up), it's difficult to access the floors. That's the disadvantage of ANY multi-floor cage - but ONLY if you plan to fetch your hamster quite often. Cleaning is easy if you can use a separate 'bathroom' (yes! available sep.) which we plan to do. But that will have to sit in the 'basement' and would require the cage to be removed from the base. Not ideal, but that's our plan. Conversion plans: We might try converting the penthouse to a toilet (easier to access for cleaning), and the bathroom to a bedroom in the basement (much more cosy?). Not sure a hamster can be pursuaded to toilet elsewhere that easily? So... If you have the space, get a larger, non-high-rise cag. If not, the ~50cm length with 4+ floors is a great space for a Syrian hamster. [I would suggest larger area if not high-rise]. Great value! Go buy. HEY! My only other niggle - is the bright white coated wires - the constrast makes it difficult to see within. A darker coating would be much better - and look better too I think. Merry Xmas!

Awful!
Has this delivered yesterday for our Syrian Hamster as he’s quite big and his old cage is too small, thought this would be perfect for him It’s an absolute nightmare to put together, you have to sort of bend the trays to clip them into the cage, then comes the next part putting the ramps on, oh my god, they wouldn’t clip on, half the clips broke as you have to give it some force to clip them on! We put the hamster in there just for him to have a run around and get used to it, as soon as I put him in I realised he’s way to big for it, the trays ar’nt very wide and he couldn’t turn around, the water bottle comes down right in the middle of the walk way and he couldn’t get past, then he decided to jump off the second tray down and landed right at the bottom, luckily he was ok but he could have seriously hurt himself! The house at the top he could easily push open and escape, not good! Then the wheel doesn’t turn round properly, when it does it loosens itself off. This really is awful and dangerous, I definitely do not recommend!!

Plastic base was chewed through!
I’ve waited a little while to write this review. And I would encourage prospective Syrian hamster owners to consider a cage without a plastic base. We bought this cage to house our daughter’s baby Syrian hamster. The hamster was 6 weeks old when we made this purchase. Sadly in this past week and with the cage being under 3 months old, the hamster has managed to chew a hole in the plastic base. Despite running repairs being made to deter this gnawing, and she had lots of other interesting things to chew in her cage... she managed to escape on Saturday night. Fortunately we found her and she is presently being housed safely in the cage but in our bathtub so she cannot escape until a glass based cage arrives later today.... Overall, the cage itself is excellent, it’s a good size, the wheel is big enough for a Syrian to run inside, the floors give plenty of exploring space. Putting it together was a bit fiddly, but using the pictures on the box and the instructions we got there in the end. Perhaps other hamster breeds aren’t quite so strong in the tooth, but I would not recommend this cage to anyone getting a Syrian.

Perfect for dwarf hamsters!
The one on the right is the one I recently bought and the one on the left was the old hamster cage I had but from the same company. For the sale price I got it at (£35), it is excellent value wise! It is perfect for my dwarf hamster (Lil’ Biskit), as he started to show signs of boredom in his smaller cage(left). Truth be told, it was tricky to set up as the plastic panels were difficult to slot in the bars but after they are in they were pretty solid! The only cons I came across were how fragile the ladder connectors were on the plastic panels as I accidentally snapped one off while trying to snap on a ladder to it. Also again, trying to fully clean out the cage was a little difficult as the panels were hard to remove in order to clean. Overall for the price for this cage is brilliant and is perfect for dwarf hamsters, it maybe a little small for full grown Syrian hamster and the ladders and house on the top and a little on the small side.

Great cage.
My hamster really loves this cage. It's a bit fiddly to put together initially but it's easy to clean without fully dismantling it. My only criticism is that the ladders don't fix on securely enough, the hamster can remove the ladders. That aside it's a great size for a Syrian. Mine tends to totally live in the bottom section and makes a nest in the corner. I noticed he was getting REALLY annoyed with the water bottle and chewing the tube as the water wasn't coming out quick enough. So I used the supplied food bowl as a water bowl and put a separate bowl in the bottom bit near the wheel for food. He loves the water bowl idea, much more natural as they drink from pools of water in the wild. Great cage though all round. It gets a thumbs up from Dave the hamster lol.

Delivered damaged.
This item came damaged, two cracks and a hole in the base. The damage isn’t bad enough to send back and wait for a replacement, but it is disappointing.

Il mio cucciolo l’ha adorata fino alla fine ❤️💔 ottima per lo sviluppo in altezza se non si ha lo spazio per una bella gabbia grande senza sbarre.
