Tiny enough to use with worrying about it sticking out!
Okay, so this is a real small WiFi dongle that still manages 867Mbps on the 5MHz band and a decent 300Mbps on the 2.4MHz band. So far it's worked flawlessly! There's not much more that I can add to this, it works, and it works well! *Update! Well, I can update my review a little bit. I've been connecting with this to an Asus RT-AC68U, and my results on the 2.4MHz band are..... Surprising, as it can establish a stable 400Mbps connection, and has on occasion peaked above this - that's actually higher than the specs suggest is possible!

Not perfect (what is?) but you'll be happy you bought this particular product if your wireless has broken.
Wireless broke on mac after 6 years of use. Decided wireless dongle would be the best option. Tried another product before this and had problems connecting, and it was also too large. This was a little more expensive but reviews online were good. But overall the price was decent compared to a repair. Very nice size, barely noticeable next to my laptop and my laptop still fits its case so that it doesn't have to be removed. 3 issues: signal strength is weaker at range than my original wireless, however moving closer to the router and this is no longer a problem. Occasionally, it does not connect by itself, however clicking on the wifi network manually has seemed to solve this almost instantly every time. It also runs quite hot, which might be expected due its size, however I've not had any problems because of this so far. Insurance was bought just in case. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and this solution and it has saved my beloved macbook pro.

I purchased this for a Hackintosh and it works really well with it. I had tried others but the drivers never worked properly with them.

Cheap fix to expensive problem
I bought the Edimax AC1200 WiFi Adapter because the internal wi-fi card in my mid-2009 MacBook Pro had stopped working. Apparently its a known problem on this generation of MacBook but fixing it is fairly difficult or very expensive. The card itself is built into the hinge of the laptop and a fair amount of dismantling is required to get at it, hence the cost. The mini-CD included with the AC1200 cannot be used on a slot loading Mac but the up-to-date driver was available on the Edimax site so I downloaded it. The instructions said to delete the existing wi-fi profile. This can be found and disabled in System Preference/Network. I then installed the Edimax Driver, plugged the mini-dongle into a USB port, rebooted and a tiny icon appeared on my top bar. Click on this icon and a fairly familiar sub-menu appears showing all the wi-fi signals within range. It works! I don't know how long it will last and I don't know if the technical specs are better or worse than the Mac's original AirPort card but I DO know that it was a quick and cheap way to keep my MBPro alive. NB: The mid-2009 MacBook Pro can only support up to Mac OS X 10.11.6 so there were no issues with OS compatibility for me.

Small ac usb adaptor supports 2 and 5ghz wifi. Very impressed. But caution gets Very HOT
So glad they've released a tiny AC adaptor. I was a big fan of the N nano. Which was the smallest n wifi adaptor I could find. However as I upgraded my router to ac 5ghz capabilities, I had to dispose of my n nano edimax dongle and wait. Now they've released a tiny ac usb adaptor I had to bite. So far it works flawlessly, I see my 2 and 5ghz wifi networks, and have been connected without issue since receiving. I love that it's smaller than a couple of competitors ac usb adaptors too. Edimax rock. Edit: been using a few days, so far no performance issues. However it runs very very hot, like 70 degrees+ hot. Using a laptop my hand often accidentally brushes up against the adaptor and I burn myself on it. It's that hot. The performance remains great so I won't return it yet, but I may end up going back my my 5ghz Ourlink adaptor as it stayed at room temperature.

Great.
Works on 2010 MacBook, restoring WI-fi connectivity. And it's tiny. Great.

Mac OSX - BE Careful
OSX 10.13.3 - the only driver available is for 10.12, and this does not provide full functionality to 10.13.3, only the 2.4 GHz band works and not the 5 GHz. It will get you out of a hole, but not if you need to improve your wifi throughput it will be a disappointment.

Smallest profile with very good speed
My notebook's in built WiFi failed. So this was a good substitute. It has a small profile with good speed. Very happy with this purchase.

IT WORKS AND GETS ME CONNECTED!
I thought when my Apple Macbook aluminium's (5,1) wifi hardware is a goner, the only way to get internet connection is through a wired access on a router, or through a personal hotspot using my iPhone (it's expensive mind you!). This Edimax product makes my situation more convenient. Moreover, through a problem with a desktop CPU that I have been working without wifi hardware, a wifi dongle is the next best solution and found out that Edimax has such a peripheral. While using it, I found out that it's a little bit slow in connecting and getting that wifi signal--but it still connects somehow. By the way, please update your printout guide and PDF guide--the latter has more complete information. Thanks Edimax and Amazon for a wonderful product!
