what is the diffrence betwen hydromol bath and dermol bath

I do not know the chemical constituents of each exactly. I have used both as a shower emollient. I had Dermol on prescription for some time but then it became not allowable on prescription. When it ceased to be available on prescription I discovered Hydromol Bath and Shower. I already knew Hydromol Cream so I knew it to be a qualty brand (this is a thickish cream of the nature of an ointment). Dermal Bath is a white creamy consistency whereas Hydromol Bath & Shower is a clear thin liquid which can be applied thinly so it goes much further. I decant it into a small bottle with a press dispenser (a redundant soap dispenser) and it applies very easily and economically. I just re-order the 1000ml bottle every so often. As far as I know, Hydromol is cheaper than Dermol. I think the 600ml Dermol is a similar price to the 1000ml Hydromol.

Does what it says on the bottle

My mother has incredibly dry and fragile skin and goes through bottles of this in her bath. Does the job, doesn't irritate like E45 and doesn't clog up her bathchair too much either.

It’s been so helpful

Gynocologist advised me to use this as opposed to soap, it did the trick and is all I use now but can be used all over the body.

Good stuff

I use this as a bath & shower gel substitute. Doesn't feel as good on the skin as the e45 version but seems to do the trick at relieving eczema in conjunction with cream & ointment. Available as a three pack on prescription from your GP...

A Beautiful Skin Balm

Don't be lazy!! It took me ages to get round to buying it again. Silly mistake This emollient has really been a lifesaver, recommended by my GP. It seems expensive but I only really need it for the eczema on my arms and face. Soap turns out to be a real irritant on these areas. It lasted for seven months using it carefully. I bought some 100ml plastic bottles and transferred some hydromol into them for easier use. It has certainly improved my eczema and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great if you have itchy patches of dermatitis. I used to have to use steroids on small patches of dermatitis on legs. I bath in this once a day and dermatitis has cleared up
