This question has been asked but with conflicting answers. Can this paint be used over already glossed surfaces. Thank you.** A: Yes it can. However, a gloss paint has a very slippery surface because it is designed to repel many things and make it easy to clean. It will do the same with a water-based paint. However, if you sand it first, to break the gloss surface and clean it afterwards - use plain water, not a spirit - and leave it to thoroughly dry out, you should find it will adhere just fine. I've done loads of woodwork like this because I don't like highly glossy surfaces and that awful yellowing that happens with so many gloss paints is horrible. If it peels, flakes or washes off after, it means the surface hasn't been prepared enough. Its not as tricky as it sounds. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get on fine. The satin finish is lovely. **Q: Do you clean the brushes with soapy water or solvent?** A: No , this paint once used Roller/Brush cannot be cleaned with water , it is oil based and as such white spirit is needed to cleanse your tools. **Q: How thick is this paint? Does it brush thin and watery or is it nice and viscose?** A: Whilst this paint is quick drying, it is actually quite thin **Q: Could this be used to repaint already glossed skirting boards that just need a clean up, I have a young baby so I'd like to avoid using gloss** A: This becomes very sticky after a while, and shows every mark, only use it if you plan to repaint very soon because it gets really dirty looking.
