Good saw
Runs well, started right up out of the box. Purchased when it was $409 a week or two ago, so for that price really great deal. For the current price probably not the greatest deal. But with the price I paid, I'd give it 5 stars. If I paid the current price, maybe it would be a 4 star, due to it sometimes bogging down on larger logs. But seems to be a pretty solid saw non the less.

460 rancher
Delivery guy was great. He delivered inside my back yard so package could not be seen from the street. For the saw, I put high octane non ethanol gas in it mixed with Husqvarna XP 2stroke oil and put in Husqvarna bar oil. It fired on the second pull and started right up on the 3rd pull. Idle sounded great. I made about 4 cuts on a small log. Cut Nicely. Carb seemed as it is adjusted well and so far no bar oil leakage. I turned the saw off and let it sit. It fired up on the 1st pull. So far this saw seems like a beast. No complaints yet. We'll see after I get a tank or 3 of fuel through it. I will update if my experience changes. But first impression after startup is great saw for a great price of ,$409 I paid. It's a beast compared to my 440.

Husqvarna 460 Rancher Gas Powered Chainsaw
Powerful chainsaw that handles cutting jobs with ease. It feels sturdy, starts reliably, and has plenty of power for larger jobs. Great choice for homeowners and outdoor work.

Solid saw, excellent value
Needed to cut a tree stump and stumbled upon this saw on sale for $409. I just cut a 46” water oak with it and I can affirm this thing is a beast, I’m at sea level and there is no lack of power with the 24” bar. It sounds marvelous, the whole neighborhood will know you’ve got a man of chainsaw when this thing gets on the pipe. Have used a Stihl MS290 for the past 20 years and I love it but this Husky definitely has more juice to pull the bigger bar.

Unbeatable value
Awesome saw, powerful and can not beat what you get for the price, not very heavy for the size of the saw, would highly recommend

Defective Saw New Out of the Box
This chainsaw did not deliver on my expectations. The cutting chain overheated and bound up on the 1st cutting. After multiple chain binding/tear-downs to clean the oil supply port to the cutting bar, the chain came off and couldn’t be installed. The clutch now exhibits signs of overheating. As directed, I took it to an authorized Husqvarna warranty repair shop. After many months, the saw was returned with a new cutting chain. Upon my 1st use again on 11/1/25, the new cutting chain seized again. I checked that the oil pump was set to the maximum (it was), then cleaned the oil port on the cutting bar and checked for oil while running the saw - no evidence for oil was seen. I stopped the saw and returned to the repair shop on 11/3/25 - they went out of business on 10/31/25! I am requesting a full refund.

Works great!!
Found it to be a great chain saw. I am a Husqvarna fan. Riding 54” mower, weed eaters, blower, and just sold 2 of the 3 chains saws used (Husqvarna) to buy the new 460. I have read the complaints that the saw wasn’t oiling correctly, and bars getting too hot and messing up the saw. SO I checked mine. The chain was too tight from the factory, and the chain did get hot!! So I loosened the chain adjustment, and ran the saw full blast to oil the chain. It did finally get to an oily situation. I would recommend to check, loosen the chain. Run full blast for a minute or so. Recheck and loosen or tighten as needed. I am a fan of fixing equipment, I have found the Husqvarna brand to be great tools and pretty easy to repair when needed. Lester

Great saw but lot of plastic parts compared to my old 55 Rancher
I purchased the 460 rancher to replace a 55 rancher that I’ve had for 25+ years. I used the 55 in a professional and homeowner setting and cut thousands of trees and hundreds of cords of wood. So I wanted to stick with Husqvarna. My first impression of the 460 wasn’t great since it looks like everything but the bar is made of cheap plastic. Definitely a change from the 1990’s model of the 55 which has a metal crank case. However, I used the 460 this week to cut about 2 cords of pine/spruce trees. It cut great and fast, even with the 24” bar at 8,000 ft elevation. It started on the second pull the first time and on the first pull every time after. It’s a little heavier than my old 55 but it’s a larger saw. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is all the plastic materials/parts, so time will be the true test.
