I will tell you they have been fun. My two kids have been playing on them constantly since we got it. I pulled it out of the package put the new rechargable batteries in and it has not needed charging for two days of nearly constant use. It takes 4 rechargable AAA batteries. I did out of curiosity put new AAA regular batteries in them and they do work but soon start showing a low battery indication. I assume that they have to be the ones provided though they will work with the others for a bit. They are very simple to use and sound quality is as good as any other walkie talkie on the market. I have found a number of regular uses for this thing because I thought I was spoiling my kids with this just to play with this so I started stealing one of them and while they are downstairs I can call them up for dinner without screaming my head off only to have them ignore me. I can guarantee you I will be taking these camping so one of us can stay with the slower hiker in the family and the other can head off to explore with the other and we can still communicate (sure you could do this with a phone but we often go remote places with no cell coverage) Instructions were simple to use and clear. I took them to the park today and let them play with them. They had a blast just splitting up to different parts of the playground and trying out different code names. I really don't think you can go wrong with these. I was going to test out their range and see if it was accurate but we have huge power lines nearby that disrupt radio frequencies so I am not sure it would have been an accurate test. My kids did head off to the neighbors house .2 miles away and they were able to talk to me when they accidently left one behind at my house. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again and I found them to be a remarkable quality for the price.

I bought two sets, so that the kids can play with it when friends are around as well. I may actually buy one more set in the summer. The kids loved them, but they need help with stopping at the right channel. You cannot click on a button to change the channel, instead you activate the change and then stop when the right channel is found. This requires good hand-eye coordination, which is very tough for a 7-year old and for adult too. I also like that I can keep one with me and summon the kids home without yelling through the backyards.I spent a lot of time searching and found a lot of the same sets with different names written on them. This was the cheapest (as of end of November).

I decided to purchase this to gifted to my 5 years old for his birthday. It was very easy to install (I didn't even read the instructions). I also like it comes with batteries so I don't have to purchase them separately. They were able to communicate on opposite side of the house with clarity (yes, I had to be part of the team ..... so I heard everything loud and clearly.)! Kids really like their new gadgets!

I am very disappointed in these Walkie Talkies. They don't work right out of the box. I thought I had done my research and these would be great. Talk about disappointing when you give your kid a birthday gift that doesn't work. My daughter tried to smile and said at least the flashlight part works. Major Bummer. I will be returning for sure. I even paid more for them to have plug in chargers.

Color is great. And they are fine for use. Very clear. I am rating it with 2 stars because you pretty much have to keep them plugged in all the time. If not, the battery dies and it starts to beep incessantly....the only thing that works is to take the battery out. I will be replacing them. I have been annoyed in the middle of the night several times for the beeping letting me know battery is dead.

Bought these for a 9 and 6 year old and I will say that they are not easy for them to use. Would definitely go with a much simpler model than these. That being said, these do have very good sound quality and seem to have a pretty decent range, I would just say that these would be more appropriate for early teens.

We bought these because our 3 year old daughter was really struggling with having a new baby interfere with the bedtime routine. Daddy puts her to bed because mama is usually nursing the new baby. These help the three year old feel connected. So far they're easy to use and have a great range. I paid $27, and definitely wouldn't want to pay more. They feel very light weight and cheap. However, they seem to be holding up well. They're very small and perfect for our three year old's little fingers.

These work great. I researched forever trying to decide on what ones to get my grandkids and decided on these. Great choice for young and old alike and have good distance coverage.
