When you get them, you have to open and fill them with water or they won't freeze.**I use a mixture of normal water and distilled water, just so it doesn't get filmy or moldy in the water bucket. It also helps the airflow that goes into the coils, that lets out colder air.The noise level is just a soft whir, not loud at all, but may be difficult for some people with sensitive hearing. There is a little bit of a high pitch EEE sound, but normal for a fan.I think I bought this on sale for $80 and definitely got my money's worth!I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an evaporative cooler.

It looks nice and it works well, however some water dose drip outside of the filter area. No i didn't over fill it. It creates a small puddle sometimes but not every time. Ican use it outside to keep cooler while I enjoy outdoors

Ordered two... one works great, nice cool air, quiet, good price... 2nd one... smells awful, like burning plastic... would be great if both worked well.

Used for first time and was totally dissatisfied. Unit did not cool room hardly at all. Our air is out and we were looking for something to bridge us until air was restored. This item did not deliver as advertised. In process of returning this morning.

Bought 1, did warranty. Bought another one, did warranty. Bought something else. Now I am happy

I bought this to help cool my small bedroom off throughout the day. My boyfriend and I have the smallest room in the house and it heats up quickly due to both of our body heat and the heat from our gaming consoles. It also doesn't help that the sun hits directly on our window around noon and throughout the evening until sunset. I set this bad boy up and it's got it at least 15 degrees cooler in our room. We had a fan going beforehand and it barely cooled it off, just kept cycling the hot air. Plus, it puts off a little bit of humidity, which I personally love especially out in the desert. It doesn't suck up as much water as I thought it would either. I filled the water up manually before I went to bed at 11pm and it's water level was still halfway full when I woke up at 8am. The remote is also an amazing feature, I love that I can use it while laying down.
