Silverline Folding Frame Square 600mm (732000)

I used to be a professional landscaper. I still do a lot of projects at home in my spare time. I have built numerous fences, sheds, stables, gazebos, decks, patios, etc. I have a larger builder's square too, but, this was a more appropriate size for building my cats a catio at the back of my house. It is of good quality (as good as any I have previously used), a handy (more manageable) size, and appears to be accurate - accurate enough to square the walls of my catio ready to receive a joisted, twin walled polycarbonate roof. As others have said, the catch doesn't have the best hold, but, as long as you are aware of this when you use the tool, it shouldn't cause you any problems. I've only used it for the one project so far, so I couldn't comment on its longevity.

I got the 1200mm version, for squaring off across 8ft by 4ft ply board. I wish it had arrived a few hours earlier, to help with some boards I had just squared off.The frame is not that sturdy, and needs treating with sensible care, but it is robust enough for my DIY needs. It comes with its own carrying case.So far I have had no problem with it falling apart, as reported in some reviews, and I don't see what the problem was.One side is marked with inches (on the inside edge) and cm (on the outside edge). As it comes, the frame can only be opened one way, so the inch marking are only on the inside.There are two stop pins, which prevent the frame opening the other way. These were knocked out with a small punch, which allows the frame to be opened either way, so it can now be used both as a left handed and right handed square. To help the locking pin engage, when opening the other way, I filed a small chamfer next to the pin locking hole, with a medium size half round file. So the locking pin can now also engage automatically when the frame is opened the other way. I don't understand why the stop pins are included to prevent the frame being opened either way, so it can be used in either hand. Without these pins the frame is more useful and it would save the manufacturer a few pennies on each one. One problem is that when opened the other way, the ends of the sides protrude, but this would be avoided if the ends were rounded off.I have now ordered the 600mm version.

Bought 2 of these to have in the workshop. They're nice and light , well built (quite strong) and I also fitted it to the true square we have certified for checking squarness (this is certified every 6 months by an independent company) and it turns out this squares 90 degree is actually 90.2 degrees .....for a square of this price to be this spot on is a good deal in my book.... considering a square I purchased from a decades well known company actually measured in at 94.5 degrees . I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone who requires a lightweight and accurate square at a great low price..It also comes with a handy little sheath for storage

One of those things where, when you eventually buy it, you wonder why the hell you didn't buy one years ago! It makes all sorts of jobs in the home and garden so much easier - as well as laying bricks. It's also surprisingly sturdy and accurate - and folds up easily.Should have bought this when I was 25, not 65!!

Perfect for landscaping and not too expensive to have 'kicking' around the site! Although, I don't recommend 'kicking' it around the site! 😅A little flimsy, but again - This was bought for basic line settings and is reflective in the price.

I do not often review products or provide customer reviews here. However, I ordered a 1200mm folding frame square, which I needed prompto. Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 1200mm the same as 1.2 metres, or 4 feet, or 48 inches. In other words, quite large. Well when I opened my smallish Amazon package, thinking "jeez, this folds up really small", I had a Victor Meldrew moment. I just could not believe what I was seeing in my opened parcel. It was a 7 inch roofing square. 7 inchs! Now I appreciate mistakes are made. I know, I make more than my fair share, but to mistake 7 inches for 1200mm.... Well, "I don't believe it!!"Someone at Amazon clearly needs to go back to school and is too incompetent to be employed by anybody let alone a huge multinational."I don't believe it!!"Edit: After spending an hour on the phone to Amazon trying to explain to someone who barely understands English, I had to hang up and try again. Luckily I got a gentleman who speaks English and after explaining the gross stupidity, he arranged for a replacement.I just received the replacement and guess what? An incompetent baboon, maybe the same idiotic baboon as the first time, sent me another 7 inch roofing Square instead of a 1200mm folding square .

Flimsy construction,wouldn't buy another I would look at other brand

Der zusammenklappbare Winkel hat meine Erwartungen weitgehend erfüllt. Die robuste Konstruktion und die einfache Handhabung machen ihn zu einem praktischen Werkzeug. Die Möglichkeit, ihn platzsparend zu verstauen, ist ein großer Pluspunkt. Ein Stern Abzug für einige kleinere Verarbeitungsmängel, die die Gesamtleistung jedoch nicht wesentlich beeinträchtigen. Insgesamt ein solides Produkt mit gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

So einfach zu bedienen und der Winkel ist stabil gebaut. Super!!!!!

En cualquier trabajo donde necesites una escuadra de gran tamaño, esta es la solución, es bastante precisa, aunque no llega, lógicamente, a las de acero de precisión mucho más pequeñas.Sin embargo, allí donde la escuadra deba ser medida para grandes dimensiones, por ejemplo para colocar un plato de ducha o una plantear una pared, es una herramienta perfecta.
