Calming but with some vocal tracks
I found the first track rather sombre/haunting and didn't enjoy the tracks with vocals (tracks 2 and 7). The other tracks were very relaxing, traditional 'reed pipe' type sounds, just what I was after (just a pity I have to be alert to skip the tracks I don't find calming when I am trying to do mindfulness!). If you want it for Tai Chi of course it may be just the thing.

Oh dear
Oh dear, would love to say this was a great, relaxing cd but unfortunately I found it rather jarring, unpleasant and a no no for my Tai Chi class. It seems somehow clunky rather than meditative to me and although most other reviewers seem to love it, I just couldn't get into the zone with this cd! Good, fast delivery though x

Very relaxing
Love this album. The music is perfect for Qui Gong and Tai Chi which is a little slower paced. Easy to listen to and each tune flows into the next very easily

World stops
This CD has such a calming quality - at least it works this way for me! When I play it, the world seems to stop, and I'm just embraced within the sounds - gentle Japanese (or generally eastern) moods enshrouded with warm, but unobtrusive, synths. This music is very picturesque. Relaxing but enjoyable too. Rhythmical, but without dance-beats. It helps me to relax and slow down. I guess it's good not only for Tai Chi, but also for meditation or yoga!I actually bought it more or less on the spur of the moment... And I'm very happy to have it. I hopw the other CD I bought together with this once, Chakra (from the same series), is just as good!

You cant go wrong for the price!!
I think this is ideal background music for meditation/relaxation and I use it for background music when I do Tai Chi.... I have also just put it on for a while when I need to just chill out and de-stress...it puts me in the mood for sleep too... Im glad I got it and feel I will find many more uses for it in the future.

My Favorite In My Collection
I'm not just writing this because I love the CD, it's also because it makes me sad to see some low star reviews. This is by far the most beautiful, soothing, eloquent CD in my collection. I play this CD on my front porch where I do my rocking chair sitting and relax. Listening, makes me not want to leave the porch to do yard/animal chores. Lin Fu Chan's voice is heavenly. It sounds like a distant voice calling from a place of peace. It makes you want to follow the voice to see the person who is vocalizing such beauty. Every song is completely soothing. I don't care for the CD's that have a few soothing songs that start to get you feeling relaxed, and then, boom.....you get hit with a more upbeat tune that jolts you out of the tranquil feeling that was setting in. This CD has a tranquility that just seems to cover over you like a sheet floating down from the sky. I actually went back on Amazon and searched for CD Lin Fu Chan because I wanted every single one recorded. I was disappointed to find no other. I even went as far as to consider buying another duplicate for the other CD players that I have located in my home. If it's a day that I'm going to be inside more than I'm outside and walking through my porch area, I actually swap the CD's to bring Lin Fu Chan's inside the house. For such a reasonable price, I'll probably buy the second as soon as I finish this review. Actually, I know I will. As far as length, I'd have to look at how many songs are on there. It doesn't matter to me, because I set my CD players to "repeat". I like the music softly playing in each room, including the bathroom. I don't get tired of repetition because I rarely sit in one place long enough to even hear 3 consecutive songs. Every time that I come up the porch (our entryway), I pause to listen. Sometimes instead of walking straight in the house to do what I was going to do, I busy myself on the porch to continue listening a little more. The music is so angelic, you can almost envision the artist singing with a waterfall in the background and a light fog on the ground. It is mystical and soothing at the same time. I have high anxiety and Tai Chi and Zen music are one of the large handful of things I do to find inner peace and calmness without taking Valium. Some reviewers said that they did not like the music at all. Well, not everyone likes the same kind of music genre. If you are looking for dancing music, this is not the correct CD. If you are looking for something to "center" you, calm and relax you, help you drift off to sleep, slow down and enjoy the moment and escape the crazy feeling we get from the rat race that life can force us into, I think this CD would be extremely beneficial, both physically and mentally to you. Another reason I love it, is that it is like an "escape". You are very aware that it is not of American culture. Some songs, you also have to listen for the instrument, as the voice is so angelic that it hardly needs an instrument. If you think of how with Native American music, the voice "calls" and dominates the instruments, this is similar but with a much larger comforting aspect, in my opinion. I love Native American music and wooden flute music and have those CD's too. This CD still remains my favorite for when I want to create serenity. I hope that anyone reading this that purchases due to my review, is as pleased as I am and that you enjoy it as much as I do.

Bello!
Uno dei migliori cd per il Tai Chi nonostante alcune tracce ricordano la lirica con voce maschile. Consigliato a tutti.
