The product is thick. The jar is big an my hair isn’t hard or gummy. It smells nice and light. It doesn’t leave residue or buildup. And easy to wash out the hair.

I've used it for years and it always performs like I expect an American Crew product to. It's fairly thick and creamy. Durability is as described. Light hold, will only weigh down heavier thick hair, so best for mild styling. Greasiness not a concern at all, which I'm sure is a side effect of the low shine formula. Value ranges, as I sometimes skip when the price is too high.

Nice hold doesn’t leave hair full of garbage washes out nice and easy

I just received this yesterday last minute before I was going to work and my hair was tow-up. This stuff fixed that super quick! It's not a cream or a gel, but rather a waxy feeling to it. It's solid clear as seen in the photos and you get what you pay for. I got sick of using those ICE spiker products for turning into hard glue afterwards, then found this. At least with this you can still run your fingers through your hair!.. And yes, you can STILL style it to your liking. (Even when dry!) Some people say it's got a musky smell to it... DUDE, YOU'RE A MAN! MEN ARE MUSKY! This smells like a total man's product! To me it just smells really clean and really manly. It's pretty stiff for a pomade, just don't overdo it on dry hair. If you want that wavy, messed or styled up kind of hairdo..Then this is for you. I used a little extra for that maximum hold and my hair STILL hasn't budged even a 10 hour shift. I can still run my hands through my hair too! It's not hard at all. I'm ordering a lot more when I get my second delivery. I need to make sure it's the same product. Careful of fakes. I'll call and raise HELL on Amazon if it's a fake. This one's authentic though so you should be cool. And one more thing... DAMN IT AMAZON!!! Bought all kinds of products! Needed non greesy feel/look, non crusty (gel ugh), natural, holds medium length hair up. Preferred to run fingers through hair and wanted a hold into day two. Winner: Crew Molding Clay.Others:Sauvecito Pomade firme - This is overly perfumed gel. It is crusty when dried. Hard pass.Crew Heavy Hold Pomade - Felt like the Sauvecito Pomade, less crusty and no fragrance. Hold wasn't as strong as other products.Crew Fiber - Second place! Smooth feel like grooming cream and molding clay had a baby. Hair needs to be drier when put in. Loses hold when touched though.Crew Grooming Cream - Thick grease feel. Holds very well but I didn't like touching my hair after -- which does not break hold when you do.Equate Pomade Medium Hold - This is what you'd expect from Pomade feel. Wears out in one day and loses hold though.Trendsetter Matte Wax - Got the sample pack which is highly recommend just for feeling out prosucts. Found medium not enough hold. Firm was right but their firm is too stiff and unnatural feeling. Sample pack size good for travel to touch-up places after the fact.Crew Molding Clay - Drier feel and hair just feels natural while fingers can smoothy go through -- which does not break the hold. Holds very well day one and holds like the pomade on day two. I reapply day two if I care.The dampness of your hair effects the hold -- all water based. So play with dryness when using a new product.I use molding clay throughout and grooming cream on my kalik so nothing gets out of place. Cream perfectly controls any straggler hairs.If I saved you money, you're welcome!

the smell is indeed not the nicest, but you get used to it eventually. the effect it has on hair is just really amazing, so the scent doesnt matter anymore :D

I've been looking for a pomade cream for ages that is light in texture, isn't sticky (able to run hands through hair) and strong enough to hold style. Gave up until I found this American Crewe (red). Yes its not the best smell, agree with one of the last reviewers that it smell like a lemon air freshener. But it not as bad as some of the dramatic reviews on here! Once I've got it on the smell goes after 2mins and so it really doesn't bother me at all. If you've been trying different products at least give it a try. I'm glad I did!
