Applies easily and dries to a smooth Matt finish which is completely waterproof.
We used it on new oak kitchen worktops .it needed to be durable smooth and safe as it also a food prep area. We smoothed the surface with 120 grit sandpaper and then wiped it clean to remove dust. The oil doesn’t need stirring and you simply paint it on smoothly and leave it to soak in. The results are stunning, it looks very professional and the surface is completely durable. Nothing stains or marks it and if it needs it you simply re- coat as necessary.100% reliable and safe, no hesitation in recommending this product, oh and the brush cleans easily as well.

Excellent product and ideal for a variety of woods
Recently installed oak worktops and used this as recommended by the shop. Thought I’d chance my arm using this on new oak doors also and it was very easy to use with a fantastic finish. I didn’t use a brush to put the oil on as instructed on the tin and instead used a cotton cloth with cotton wool in the middle. This gave a much better finish and less oil was used, it also meant there were no splash/brush marks. The oil is excellent on worktops and water/ liquids sit on top and wipe away very easily. Gives off a fantastic shine and brings out the grain in the wood. One tin was enough to oil the worktops 4/5 times and also oil 5 doors once.

Great stuff
Yes it's a faff but leaves the surface renewed. Follow instructions carefully and you should be fine.

Brilliant Product
Very good product. I do it my way. 1. Do it during the summer and before going on holiday 2. Run down with wet and dry 240 lightly using a mix of water and washing up Liquid 3. Wipe down with a clean cloth in water 4. Leave for 24 hours 5. Brush on the oil but lightly Not loads of the stuff very important 6. Wait 30 minutes and Use The white buffing block. 7. Wait about 5 hours any areas that have soaked in and gone Matt put a very very small amount of oil on with a brush 6. Be super patient after 24 hours it will still be tacky in my experience. I will leave it a week before fully using it but would say it’s okay to use after say 48 hours. Please note. Best to do in summer and before going away as give chance to fully cure. It may stay slightly tacky for weeks but it will eventually go hard and last a full year if not two.

Best oil for oak worktop, Danish oil replacement
Was looking for alternative, after treating our oak worktop with danish oil which did not work. Danish oil would not work on our oak worktops, still had water marks and black spots after 4 layers.. If you are looking oil for your oak worktops what really works, look no further. Works as described, protects it from water stains and other marks and leaves natural finish, same as danish oil. I would advise follow instructions fully for best results, including sanding while wet on last layer. Very pleased with results and can recommend to others.

Smells
I've used this for the John Lewis Calia table for 3* years now. I find it ok. Takes a long time to dry - the first time was awful, took about 3 days to dry and was tacky for ages. I hardly apply any now and that gives a more usable outcome more quickly. Still needs at least 24 hours. So I'm a bit ambivalent really. The thing I hate most is the strong chemical smell which hangs around for days. Feels like we're breathing chemicals. It's recommended by JL and don't want to risk messing up our main dining table by using something else so kind of stuck with it.

Good stuff will be using again.
Used some of this stuff on a oak plank from b&q. Took my time sanded the wood, 80,120,240 and 400. This made its super smooth. Then followed the instructions online that I found on YouTube. I wiped with water. this was a mistake as this brought the grain back but as part of the treatment process you sand with 320 or in my case 400 after oiling and this makes it super super smooth. Not sticky in any way like other have said. If you follow instructions that are on YouTube by woca themselves I don't thi k you can go wrong. Take you time and do as the video shows.

My kitchen sides look great
Once you master using this oil you can get a coating that looks like glass. The only down side with this oil is the smell is very pungent and takes 2 - 3 days to get back to bearable levels. Saying that Ive not found anything that works as well and looks as good and last as long between re-coats.
