I was waffling the idea of ordering one of these for a couple weeks because the reviews were mixed and I didn't want to commit $30 to a "it sounded like a bird chirping" device. I moved to a major city last year and there have been more than one occasions where I wish I had something like this handy, and I'm so glad I found a product like this. Same day shipping was a plus, and I got to test it out immediately. The instructions say to test it out with your finger covering the speaker, so I did that in my apartment and my partner said it wasn't that loud. But when I took my finger off the speaker and played it full volume, I think half of our apartment complex could hear it. Definitely louder than a smoke detector or a car alarm. I was reluctant to see how bright the strobe light is because it's not super easy to put the pin back in place to stop the alarm, and I didn't want to turn off the lights and not be able to see the hole and being the annoying neighbor. Even with just the alarm, it feels like I can wane someone off. I was also worried that it would be too easy for the pin to come off and lead to embarrassing situations where it would start going off in my every day, but it hasn't done that yet. It takes a solid tug in order to detach, so I'm not really worried about it going off while walking with my book bag or purse. But I'm also not planning on keeping it inside anything, as I intend on wearing it on belt loops, the strap on the outside of my purse and backpack, in my hand while I'm walking, etc. The design is really cute. I wanted a bright color I could see in the dark and this coral color looks perfect. The gold carabiner-type clip is screw-on so I'm not worried about it becoming unhinged and falling off anything it's on and it's good quality too. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and will be recommending it to all of my friends.

When I tested it, it was very loud. So loud that you can hear it over loud music. The light is also super bright that (brighter than a phone light) so you can be spotted and helped. It’s a good size so you can find it if you need it. I bought a color I can easily find in my purse if I don’t have it in my hand. It’s stays locked while in my purse and is made of quality materials. It’s my little piece of mind and I take it everywhere with me. You can take it places where they don’t allow pepper spray. Perfect! I hope I never have to use it, but it’s nice to know I do have it. I alerted all my friends and family about this, just so they know if they ever hear anything be of these go off, someone needs help. The quicker the response, the better! Besides it’s so loud that a predator or criminal would probably run because if you keep the top off the alarm keeps going, and like I said, it’s very loud. I’m so glad this was invented!

Right off the bat, I couldn't figure out how to open up the ring, had to turn to online for direction; easy to do but it isn't that clear. Yes, it's loud and yes, I think it will bring help if needed, or at least get people's attention. I tried carrying it like a keychain but after a bit, it had come unscrewed (the initial part I had a problem with) and my key actually came off. So now I just keep it hooked inside my bag. I also purchased another one to keep by my bed. A FEW MONTHS LATER: I TRIED MY BIRDIE TO TEST IT YESTERDAY AND THERE IS BARELY A 'CHIRP'. IN FACT, I HAD PURCHASED TWO OF THEM AND NEITHER ONE HAS THE LOUD ALARM SOUND THAT IT HAD WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THEM. SO BASICALLY, THEY ARE DUDS NOW. I GUESS I WASTED MY $.

The quality is nice, and it's easy to carry around, but it doesn’t feel like the safest or most effective option. The alarm isn't very loud—honestly, I think most people would ignore it if they heard it. It’s also not super compact when you actually need to react quickly in a dangerous situation. I’d personally recommend pepper spray as a better alternative. The alarm is easy to pull though and easy to turn off.

These are great. I have bought a few for people and one for myself. They are extremely loud. Perfect for safety and easy to pull when needed. They are sturdy though so it would be hard to accidentally pull it apart and set it off by accident. Functions perfectly for a loud distraction. Opportunist offenders look for easy targets and this will draw attention quickly. As someone who works in law enforcement I recommend this for all ages even children and especially those that are out walking, running or out in public. Keep it fully charged. Full charge means loudest noise. Low battery and the noise is not as loud. Perfect safety tool and no LTC required

Wow this thing is ear piercing. Its frequency is loud. I can see how this may assist if being attacked. I couldn’t tolerate more than 10 seconds and that was too much. I will order one for my daughter.

The Birdie is VERY loud. You have to pull somewhat hard to get it to activate, which I appreciate since that means it won’t accidentally go off in the middle of a lecture or when I don’t need it to. If you struggle reattaching the plug to get it to stop making noise, push it in even harder until you hear a click.
