## Description

Nextion is a Human Machine Interface （HMI） solution combining an onboard processor and memory touch display with Nextion Editor software for HMI GUI project development. Using the NEXTION Editor software, you can quickly develop the HMI GUI by drag-and-drop components (graphics, text, button, slider etc.) and ASCII text based instructions for coding how components interact at display side. Nextion HMI display connects to peripheral MCU via TTL Serial (5V, TX, RX ,GND) to provide event notifications that peripheral MCU can act on, the peripheral MCU can easily update progress and status back to Nextion display utilizing simple ASCII text based instructions.

Review: Critical if Testing Multiple MCUs - Ease of use: This couldnt be any easier or more straight forward to use. I use this display as an HID for a dual MSP430F5529 & AM263 MCU DAQ setup. It has is own control capabilities and it has a powerful processor Compatibility: UART can be bit-bashed making this thing compatible with anything that has an output Functionality: This intelligent series has Data Storage capabilities, allowing the memory offloaded from the MCU's ADC to be transferred and freeing buffer & computational power with just the click and drag of a button on the editor! Wifi connectivity: No tested or observed. If this does have wifi, I am unclear on how it works. Value for money: Expensive - but it massively increases development time of any development system Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wanted an easily implemented data storage device that did not use EEPROM only; Allowing the data to be off loaded. This one does indeed have that capability - using the Data Storage object in the Nextion Editor; This feature is specific to the Intelligent Series Nextion Display
Review: The absolute best Arduino compatible screens (capacitive 10.1!!!!) - I think I have in total purchased about 6 or 7 of these screens and they are awesome as …. These make my Arduino projects look amazing there is a premium feel and I had to find a guy that showed me that ‘ print “LED ON” ‘ was the simplest way to go. And then a simple few lines of Arduino code and I was off. Made some really cool stuff. I also paired these with some ‘Productivity Open P1AM-100 starter kits’ from automation direct and made an industrial machine for my company. It’s awesome! A little learning curve but I figured it all out from YouTube and ai. I like the capacitive touch. I only have one resistive touch and I just don’t like it. But it works. Gotta be very careful about the screen size or it won’t accept the pics for backgrounds etc. I did not use the built in GPIO yet. Not sure how it works. I am an Arduino guy. Also be very careful not to go over 5V. I blew out a screen connecting a 9V battery. That screen is a boat anchor. 5V only on the 10.1. Be aware. Don’t lose $180 on an over voltage connection like I did. Other than that these screens are amazing.

**Q: Is there an enclosure available for the 10.1 inch version?**
A: I don't know. Look in the Nextion Store or visit the itead website.

**Q: Can this be used with an ESP32-WROOM?**
A: Yes any micro-controller with rx/tx pins can communicate back and forth with the display over serial as long as both are set to the same baud rate. You can power the display from a dedicated 5V source rather than the USB pin off the MCU, but the MCU and display must share a ground.

I think I have in total purchased about 6 or 7 of these screens and they are awesome as …. These units are great to work with, and produce a very nice visual display of graphics and information. Some of the graphics functions need to be worked around, but I have used these in major electronic designs.
