I’m a 14-16 which size would be best?

I am a 12-14 and I went for large which are a perfect fit for me.

Can they be washed at 30 degrees? It says cold but this is no good for underwear. Do they shrink?

My husband washed them with the general black wash, between 30 - 40 degrees, and there was a very slight shrinkage.

For someone who is size 12-14 is m or l better please? tia
