Is this stronger than American Crew Fiber?

I would say the hold is about the same between the two. The main difference to note is the finish of the product. The pomade is a high shine product, where as the fiber is a low shine product.

What changed in the new version of the heavy hold pomade?

The old formula was way more stiff/hard to manipulate. The new one is perfect! It’s a cross between the old and the regular hold pomade. Much more easier to work with and I find my hair styles better since I can actually work it through.

How does this compare with american crew grooming creme? (i have curly hair)

My hair is long, straight and thick so different than yours. To me It handles better than cream and doesn’t feel greasy at all. Also, it smells great and holds well but then again that’s with my hair type.
