German Pumpernickel Bread by Landsberg (17.6 ounce)

The bread is delicious and very fresh. We keep ours in the refrigerator and 1½ weeks later, it's still nice & fresh.

It was so old and crumbly that you could not slice it. It had a bitter uneitable taste. I've traveled extensively in Germany and Austria and I never encountered any such bread like it. Beware!

I will guess at the average American has never had German or danish pumpernickel bread. Yes it’s very thin. It’s very hard simply take a knife and slip it between the slices butter it up. Add your favorite. Whatever in Denmark, you can go into stores has heard nothing but open face sandwiches with everything from shrimp to beef to pork to all kinds of different sauces. I found a very delicious. First thing I do is I spread butter on it and then I add usually cheese sometimes a slice of deli ham or turkey. We really liked it not quite like homemade but very good for coming from the bakery. Thank you.

Good bread but too expensive.

This bread reminds me of Christmas at home! Great taste and texture and pairs well with pickled herring and sour cream sauce.

Disastrous. Comes in 2 packages. Opened first package and all pieces literally fell apart. Like it was old or rotted. Froze 2nd package as it looked hopeful. Opened one month later and able to eat 2 pieces. Didn't even look for return as it is food and didn't think I could return. Bought similar product in 2024 and it was good, but name brand was no longer offered, so had to buy this one. Never again.

when i purchased this i thought it was like bread. it is not its some flat little sort of hardish i dont know what to call it. i didnt taste that much pumpernikel in it at all....my husband said what is this....and that is exactly what i thought...what is it...not what i expected...its very small and flat no fluff at all...not like bread...take your chance ...

I'm not certain, but I think this is the worst bread I've ever had. It tasted very mediocre, but its texture was terrible and it would crumble all over the place. It was impossible to cut it without making a mess. I threw it out.
