Worked for a few weeks, but beagle/lab mix got use to it and batteries died quickly.
I will never resort to a shock collar with non-violent pets. Resorted to this vibrating/beeping collar to help curtail my beagle/lab mix after the cats moved in. The beeps utterly distracted and confused my dog for a while, which basically distracted instead of training him from barking. Worked for a few weeks and we saw a change, however by week 4, he got use to warning beeps then buz vibration, then the battery began to degrade with energy. Liked it for a while, but after a while its effects faded, then the battery life physically caused it to fade where it wasn't worth it to get new batteries for a device he got use to. The biggest annoyance was the collar kept coming loose again and again, the buckle doesn't stay on tight, it slips as days go by causing a need to re tighten. If it gets loose, the vibration and sensor is less effective. For puppy training I think it would do well, but to older mature dogs, and barkers who ignore negatives due to brain or breed wiring (meant to bark), I don't see how it can be effective. If you want to avoid barking, your best bet is to research your dog breed before settling on a pup. Love mine to death, live in a house with a yard where barking is not a problem. When the cats moved in, we had to try something, it kinda helped so I gave the product a 3 star. If it had stayed effective, would have left a 4 star. 5 star if their collar would stay on and it remained effective. This will work for some dogs and light barkers/light barking breeds, but for others like mine, its just not long term effective. The cats and UPS guy HAVE to be barked at.

Ahhhh.... peace and quiet.....
I am usually too lazy to write a review, though I often use the reviews to make a decision, but this has improved my mood so much I had to share (I didn’t even realize how stressed all the barking was making me until it got quiet). I adopted an 11 yo sweetie in October to be a companion to my 5 yo fluffernutter that lost her friend May 2018. New dog is a little bit of a barker, but generally not too bad unless he is encouraged by another barker. Well, new dog ended up having terminal cancer so in my infinite wisdom decided a third dog would be a good idea so that the fluffer wouldn’t have to be alone when the time comes for the new pup. Found an absolutely adorable 7 yo that probably used his cuteness to manipulate and get away with never being disciplined... come to find out he barks at EVERYTHING!!! Which of course means the 2nd dog barks at almost everything because the 3rd dog barks nonstop...I tried all the things the training experts recommended for 4 weeks, then gave up. I found this online and thought it seemed the most humane option. I have been so happy! It is working great. I have actually been using it back and forth between the two since even after it comes off it seems that the non-barking continues for a while. I am also trying to make sure to use a command every time it goes off hoping over time we may be able to eventually stop using and only rely on the commands - time will tell on that one.I am thinking about buying a second one so that I don’t have to keep switching, but want to see how it holds up since some reviews seemed to say it broke quickly. I didn’t give it a 5 star because it actually does go off when other dogs bark and not just the dog wearing it barks. This does cause some confusion. Also the strap is kind of slippery so it loosens up over a while when the buckle slides, to keep it from hanging loose on the neck it needs to be readjusted at least daily. Otherwise at this point I would have given 5 stars.

It Works for My Crazy Dog!
I was at my wits end with my corgi mix when I bought this collar. I had tried everything: Training, calming treats, consulted the vet. After years of dealing with my dog barking like a deranged lunatic whenever he heard someone come in the house, walk around the house, or just breathe on the other side of the bedroom door where his crate is, I was on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. I did not think this cheap little collar would work but figured for $25, I’d give it a try and have a good laugh. False. It worked the first night! Lunatic dog barked one time, got the beeb/buzz and from then on, he’s done nothing more than the occasional very soft, barely audible grumble. It’s been two weeks and I kept thinking, nah, he’s going to go back to being insane and it’s STILL WORKING! Of course, every dog is different (I’m going to try it with my Great Pry-Cattle Dog mix and if it works for him, we know this is the real deal!) and I have a hunch that it’s working so well because we’re also giving him calming treats on occasion, but even on the days when he doesn’t get the treats, he’s surprisingly calm. As I’m writing this, a huge lab is strolling by the house and my dog is just chillin on the couch. I heard one tiny grumble but that was it. Love this collar!

Good collar. Battery life is short and not easy to find.
EDIT: I bought this collar a third time after moving houses and losing the rechargable one to find out that they went back to thr older battery one. One battery was instantly dead out of the package and the other literally lasted a day. Really disappointed that theyd go to the older model instead of the newer rechargable one.I do like this colla, i got it a couple years ago when it had a battery and then again a year ago when it was rechargable by usb. It only has sound and vibration which is the most humane way (i dont like to risk ones with a shock option, just incase) i loved it and it worked well for my dog, the big downside was that the battery died after two/three weeks for the first one and when i went to a few stores i couldnt find a replacement anywhere. I ended up getting another collar model by the same people/seller that sell this later on thats rechargable by USB thats perfect.

Don't hesitate - it works!
I'm happy to report that this worked wonders on my American Staffordshire Terrier. After a couple failed goes with some over priced products from Pet Barn - they suggested I try the $240 collar that sprays citronella in her face. Before an idiot and his money were parted, I was lucky enough to find this collar through the Amazon app in haste and last minute desperation.Buying this collar saved my household.* NO more barking when there's so much as a mouse fart outside the front door* NO more barking when the mail man drizzles past on his pee-shooter* NO more barking when someone knocks on the door or comes home* NO more waking up the baby followed by arguments with the wife to 'get rid of that bloody mongrel'Seriously.. for this price you just can't go wrong. So if your pooch is driving you and your household up the wall - do yourself a favor and get this collar. Now onto the minuses....The beeping on the collar has a tendency to go off at random times - its happened when she's been in her bed sleeping and sometimes when panting. As she see's this noise as correction/punishment, I feel like this has the potential to confuse her if she's doing nothing wrong. Because of this, we've chosen only to use the collar in situations we know she's most likely to bark or when she starts.

Immediate Results
So my bark collar arrived yesterday, and I put it on my German Shepherd yesterday evening while she was in the back yard and worked well immediately. The tone confuses her, and she would stop barking after the first tone. She did seem to start testing it's lower threshold by doing the "hrr-ruff" "Hrr-Ruff" "Hrr-RUFF" "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPP".Normally in the morning she wakes me up wanting to go up at about 5:30-6:00AM, i put her out and she barks at other dogs that are barking, at birds, at passing helicopters etc. waking me up every 10 or so minutes until I get up at about 6:45am to get ready for work. This morning I put her out at around 5:40am, with her bark collar on. I woke up at 8:30 am. Had to explain to the boss I was late because I put a bark collar on my alarm clock.

Life changer!
A miracle worker! This has changed my life! I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. I struggled for 3 months trying to train her out of barking at every single little noise after she discovered her voice one day. I finally gave in and admitted I needed help. It had gotten to the stage that I had to shut her in the house for most of the day when she could have been freely enjoying the sunshine in the garden because as soon as she'd go out she'd start and all the techniques I'd learned online to curb it were no longer working. I couldn't even go for a pee if she had access to the back yard, because she'd be disturbing the peace and it's my responsibility as her owner to not allow her to disrupt all my neighbour's lives as well as mine. Forget leaving the house to run errands or god forbid do anything social or fun! Even when left with long lasting chew treats to occupy her, if she was in the backyard she would bark after 15 minutes. I felt so trapped. As I said, this collar has changed my life. And it worked right from the get go. She started barking and then wondered where the noise was coming from, sniffing the ground trying to work it out. That first day she barked a total of just 6 times throughout the entire day, 3 of those in succession the very first time. The rest were single barks spread out over the course of the day and each time the collar would beep and she'd stop. It reacts so much faster and more effectively than I am able to and I cried in relief to have something help me.I had her wear the collar whenever she went outside for 5 days, taking it off for the periods she was inside and resting and she has been so much better. Rarely a peep. I've even been able to have her out without the collar on for a few days now and she is resisting the urge to bark when she hears noises that would have set her off a couple of weeks ago even without the collar on. It's amazing! Highly recommend! I have my freedom back and am no longer living in constant anxiety all because of this device! Worth every cent and much, much more!

Surprisingly impressed results.
Bought the collar for my mother's dog (maltese×shitzu) who barks at anything that moves. Since using the collar her barking has dramatically improved. She will now bark a couple of times and the collar emits a beeping sound followed by a vibration which distracts her and stops the barking. Got the medium size but would go a size down.

Works straight out of the box.
A couple of minor things,1. Make sure you insert the battery the right way round2. Press and hole the on/off button for several seconds until it turns on/switches off3. Ensure correct prongs used for thickness of coatWe have a very stubborn and string-willed Jack Russell. have tried other sound/vibration collars, Citronella collars. This very clever puppy quickly worked out how to beat the sound (only dogs can hear)/vibration collars and after a short time learnt how to ignore the Citronella spray and continue barking. In fact, getting worse. Tried this collar out of the box and she tried to beat this one. The gradual increasing steps confused her to the point where she realised, after one fitting, that she either grumbles quietly which is bearable, or stays quiet.Given the effect it has after one use I am happy to continue using this product.
