When young Priest Conor Ryan is summoned to the deathbed of old Mara he reluctantly prepares to hear the village 'witch's' confession. Never guessing that Mara Kelly's tale will change his life forever and set in motion a chain of events that will echo through time even in the lives of his descendants... Review: I want to whisper to the moon! - Freeda converted me to look for faeries and creatures that we can't see... I loved her book. There is a moral to the story and it has a happy ending.. Do not put a label on people if you haven't walked in their shoes! Thank you Freeda! I am looking forward to the next book in the series! Review: The start of something special - "We can't go around measuring our goodness by what we don't do, by what we deny ourselves, what we resist and who we exclude. We've got to measure out goodness by what we embrace, what we create and whom we include" - Connor Ryan A beautifully written story about how easy crazy ideas and exclusion become social norms and the fear to love freely inside us all. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series.

The story draws you in
This book is the prequel to the novel "Selkie's Promise - A Parish of Ballynar Novel: A Fantasy novel inspired by Celtic Folklore and Spirituality". I read Selkie's Promise first and loved it so much that I grabbed the prequel and zoomed through it. Both books are of the kind that I will keep and reread again and again. I will eventually get the paperbacks.

Beautiful
Made me cry, made me hope, made me laugh in Joy. A beautiful parable about charity, acceptance, and love. Opening heart and mind. Brilliantly written. Thankful to have discovered this author's work. Grateful for its gift.
