1 year later with two fans and still great.
I installed 2 of these a year ago. They get used 1-3 times per month for hours at a time. They're great. You can control the fan from either the remote of the fan itself, which is handy in saving the remote batteries. Speeds are adjustable in 10% increments and the fan is very quiet from 10-40%. Even at higher speeds it's still relatively quiet, but you can tell it's moving a lot of air. On a hot day I'll turn both on to exhaust and open a large window at the center of the RV. You can feel a breeze coming in from the window. This really helps the AC catch up. Install was straight forward and problem free. Only minor gripes (VERY minor) is that 1) the rain sensor function is off be default. I'd prefer it the other way around so I don't forget it. 2) LED lights on the fan itself can't be turned off, even when the unit is operating with the lid open and fan at 0%. I've had maxair and fantastic fans. If I were buying again I'd do with these ones. Just as capable and half the price.

Good Product
When my Fantastic fan died on me, I had to find a replacement. Looked for rv exhaust fan for installation in my bathroom. Went through all the product offering and happened upon this unit. Price was more than reasonable and had favorable reviews....so I bought one. Just finished installing today and ran through all the features. The fan handles a lot of air. The 16 screw holes in the fan (from the roof side) matched up with the Fantastic fan as well as the 4 screws on the interior cover. The installation went through without a hitch. At this point, I'm very pleased. If I had to be critical, it would be that the fan opens too wide and I can't use the cover. I read somewhere where someone fabricated a bracket that would allow a cover to be used, but I'm not going to go to that trouble. Works fine...I'll just have to get used to making sure the rain closing system is activated.

Great 12v rv fan!
I have another of this exact fan, purchased a couple of years ago, in an offroad camper. Both perform flawlessly. This one was installed today. No instructions needed IMHO. The first noticeable difference, the new one is much quieter. The lid motor is quieter and the fan seems quieter. The offroad camper is much smaller, 5ft.x10ft. This one is in a 19 foot travel trailer. Hard to determine if the lower noise is from a lower cam, but it's pulling cool air into the trailer, from one open window, well. Seems to be the same quality build as the first. I highly recommend this fan. Full featured, all necessary screws and wiring was plenty long. Great product!

Surprisingly great
My old bathroom vent/skylight had a tiny little motor with a tiny little 6" fan and a crappy screen that didn't want to stay attached and a crappy knob to raise the lid and all around bad everything. Been wanting to replace the unit for a while. The fan finally died so I had an excuse. The hardest part of the new Install was getting off the old roof sealer goo. Install was incredibly simple. And the new unit is amazing. The rain sensor works great. Although the fan keeps spinning even when the lid closes which I thought was weird. But every feature works perfectly. I am very happy with this unit and I'll be buying another one to replace the living room vent of my camper. It'll be nice to have a reversible fan in that skylight right above a couch. They also have added benefit of catching all the mosquitoes that manage to get into the camper.. they get in one of the times I let the dogs out and in, then the natural airflow in the camper front to back guides them to the large gap at the top of the bathroom door, then they get in the bathroom and get trapped on the screen where they can't overcome the suction. Then they die and after a day you can hold a garbage can under the fan and turn off the fan and they all just fall off the screen into the garbage. Or you can vacuum them off. Just don't stand under the fan when you turn the fan off and get showered in mosquitoes like I did before I realized it was a mosquito trap. Very happy. Wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars.

A great RV fab
I have had this fan for over a month. I love it. Its quiet and easy to use with the remote. The only drawback that I see is that you have to leave the remote on when leaving the vent open other than that, I have not noticed anything else that should be different. I would buy this fan again if it last a long time.

Nice unit and the only reason for 4 stars is that i just installed it today jun 22/24 and do not know how it will hold up. A moderate price at 239.95 but the last one i bought for another 5th wheel at another place a week ago was 179.99. Perhaps waiting till year end might find a more suitable price range if looking. Replaced a manual crank vent. Ran a 12v power line from a light in my closet 30" away (not on a switch). Hardest part of the install was taking the old one out. Now for those that have discovered this unit opens "far" and a normal vent cover will not work (use a vent cover to prevent wind from destroying your lid) The only vent cover I can find that might work is the Ventmate 67313 (15" tall) for those that are looking and it only has a front vent and is not accessible to clean the Fan or under the cover once installed or for repairs without a lot of work but as stated dont go without a vent cover. Wind will cost you. One last thing I discovered was that Yes you can set the height of the lid when opening (if you chose to use a normal low vent cover (9-10"), you Can manually set the lid to open only to vent cover height. 1-you open the vent lid by pressing remote or button UP, 2)-once it reaches the height you want, hit the up button again and it will stop right there, turn your fan to either in or out and set your fan speed and off ya go. Always Remember though you have to do this each and every time you open your vent if using a normal or low vent cover. If you dont stop the lid, you will burn out the fan motor as it will continue to try to open to full height so dont forget. Travel on and great camping. UPDATE 1 Months in the RVLOVENT Fan is fantastic and highly do recommend but my comment of the about the Ventmate 67313 I do not. As describe by the Manufacturer "Ventmate", their description is WRONG and very deceiving by the company. It states it is 15" tall when in fact is is only 10" and as all standard vents are. The issue is all of the distributors they sell their product to rely on the manufacturer for a proper description of their product and in faith the distributors include this in the distributors advertising. Well from my costly new found knowledge and the fact I made a fool of myself by believing the posted description and stating in my comment above, Its WRONG. RVLOVENT though is a great fan and will purchase more.
