Bought this POWTECH 6 ft appliance extension cord to use with a window air conditioner, and it has worked perfectly. I wanted something heavier duty than a standard household extension cord, and this definitely feels much more solid and reliable.The 14-gauge wire gives me peace of mind when running larger appliances. The cord stays cool during use and the plugs fit tightly into both the outlet and the appliance without feeling loose. Appears to be durable and once in use, this item seems to handle the electrical current accurately and safely. The length is satisfying for use in my home and not a trip hazard and easy to safely discard without being noticeable. Good product and I would recommend this item to anyone who is in need of a strong electrical accessory in any type of living quarters.

Worked for my chest freezer

**UPDATE 7/4/25** Its been well over a year since I’ve gotten this cord. The AC unit runs well throughout the summer, almost nonstop and I have had zero issues with this cord. No heating issues or electrical problems. I’m purchasing a second cord for another AC unit for my workshop.5/2024 - Used for a window AC unit because when the house I’m renting was built, there were no outlets put near the window, hence the cord needed. Heavy duty, length was what I needed, and rated for this particular unit. I think the negative reviews are from people that didn’t verify the electrical rating, which causes the cord to heat up or melt. CHECK THE VOLT, WATT, and POWER RATING!

Very dangerous extension cord. Was plugged in a 1400W 110v Baseboard for about one week. Almost caught on fire. We are super lucky.
