She's been writing, directing, and acting in plays at home with her 5 siblings since she could understand acting. In true actor's fashion, she "fainted" upon opening this gift. One of the plays in this book is "Little Late Riding Hood" which happens to be a play she was in over the summer where she played the monkey (replacing the wolf). These stories are fantastic, bringing some modern fun to old classics. Our whole family has been casted in each play, so we are practicing lines and having rehearsals that she has put together and directs. Not only is SHE having a blast, but all 8 of us are. It's a great family activity that will surely create memories that last a lifetime. For the price, you can't beat it! There are instructions and tips for each play along with suggestions which is wonderful if you are a drama teacher or teaching workshops to young kids. I would even recommend this book for high school kids that would appreciate the throwback to their younger days maybe even to break some tension after a big performance that they all worked really hard on. It's fun and can be molded by the students to make it even more unique. I would have loved doing this in high school after our performance of Fiddler on the Roof to unwind in class following the strenuous effort and time that went into that play. We have the paperback version. It arrived on time, packaging was perfect and kept the book in brand new condition. Highly recommended.
