Are they pull on or do they have a zip?

They are button and zip. Stretchy so there is some give.

What is the ankle like? Is it too baggy to put socks over it?

No it is a slim fit over the ankle so socks would work over them or indeed under. They are not baggy.

Im normally an 18 can anyone tell me if a 16 would be a better fit are they stretchy

Hi if you wear size 18 stretch jeans then it would be better if you buy 18. Yes they are stretchy and body hugging

Hi, is the pocket on these big enough to fit a phone into? Thanks

It’s a bit small. You can get a phone in the pocket but can’t close the zip. I have an iPhone 7. Nice jodhpurs though. Last for years.
