I used it to save a lost cat!
This is incredibly simple to use. A beautiful kitty with a collar showed up one day and kept coming for food for a couple weeks. I bought this on Amazon, charged it, and within a couple of seconds was able to ready kitty's microchip. I called the online registry, and in about 5 minutes I connected with the owner who reunited with her kitty. It was literally Christmas Eve, and she was in tears as she had been frantic about finding her cat. Worth having for any pet lover as you can use it for any stray animal. As long as you can get near them you don't have to catch or touch them to identify their microchip number. AMAZING!

Its nice but only for the 15 digit chips
I tested this at the vet's office with a new PetLink (Datamars) chip still in it's package and then tested it on my newly acquired feline with one of those microchips just implanted. Both chips read instantly and accurately. But, if I encounter another stray cat in my yard that lets met get close enough to use this, and it doesn't read anything, that doesn't mean the cat doesn't have another type of chip that this unit won't recognize. Not sure why someone can't make an inexpensive reader that can read all the frequencies. Those that do are ten times the price of this. I'm going to see if there are other inexpensive readers for the other 3? types, and if so, I'll buy and use three readers for stray cats.

Didn’t work! Save your money!
Doesn’t work…how would you know unless a vet verified as ours did. It did not scan chip that was there in 2 dogs!

My kitten got chipped today scanned her to make sure it worked.
As the description says, it’s not able to read all chips. My kitten got a pet link chip today. It was so simple to scan her just pressed the button & held it above her & her chip number was right there on the display. I then went to aaha. Org typed her chip number into their search, it told me the chip was a pet link chip, so I went over to their website typed in her chip number & all her into was there. Glad I’m going to have this on hand for the random cats that visit my property.

Great gadget
We tried it straight out of the box and it was working beautifully and it came pre-charged. It has been almost 2 months and it still works perfectly!

Very easy to verify my dogs number
I had read that sometimes Vets offices get busy and they can mix up the numbers when inserting the tags under your dogs skin. If that happens and your dog is lost they can't get them back to you. I have 2 AKC Chow Chow puppies and I wanted to make sure I had the right numbers, fortunately I do. We found a stray a few weeks ago and were able to reunite them with their humans by reading the tag. Its a great investment well worth the price!

unfortunately I have one of these because my pets were tagged without my consent.
I dont like microchipping an animal. Its was something I didnt do and was done without my consent but this product helped me to find the numbers and it could come in handy if u see a stray cat or dog to be returned back to the owner.I have had cats & dogs for years without microchips and traveled everywhere with my pets and dont like microchips for animals. However this product works every well to use to find a number of a microchip.
