Good starter kit for fiber troubleshooting
Kit should have come with all the parts to test SM fiber (it did not). After some back and forth with the seller I got the missing parts (from China). It somewhat accurately reports cable lengths and reflected events, but it's extremely inconsistant. I can run the same test multiple times and get different results. I do find my self leaning it after every single use to keep it accurate. I bought a launch reel to hopefully eliminate some of the issues, but it didn't help much. There are some features that are greyed out that would be helpful (Pre/post launch length) being one of them. The copper tdr works very well and has actually helped with several projects. The power meter and VFL work well. The OTDR just isn't that reliable.
