Pick the right power output for your needs
Bought this a Jump 600x in January as a back-up for power-cuts. I have found that it is best suited for low power applications, such as decking LED string lighting or powering the laptop, phone and even a guitar Amp (handy info for buskers). If you want to power your kettle or run your refrigerator you would be better getting a more powerful unit but if you use it as intended, it makes a great domestic back-up. I bought a second 600x so that one can be charging while the other is in use. It will jump-start your car in winter (but you have to buy the jumper cable separately as it has a specific 'Jump' connector so get it from VToman, and it is a bit short). It powers my tyre pressure pump and is a lot les hassle than having to start the engine to use the cig lighter on each car every time. It weighs about the same as carrier bag full of shopping. It worked well to recharge my 12v power tool batteries when working away from mains access. Best bit, can be kept topped-up with the solar panel during use regardless of the state of the utility grid. Update - this little power station also powers my strimmer, my hedge trimmer, and my Bosh mower when working away from access to mains power and charges up the batteries for power tools while on projects. A GREAT BIT OF KIT.

Know what your use case is!
To begin, this was a life saver over the last week in particular and it surpassed what my intended use was. But having gained some knowledge over the week, I would buy something bigger. Of course that means more expensive. I bought the unit around Xmas 2024 and some ecoworthy solar panels. I had intended to use it to charge phones, tablets, batteries etc and maybe when having a day out in sunnier times. Then in blows the biggest storm we've seen in 60 odd years. The aftermath left destruction but worst of all, I had no power or broadband. Initially I didn't have broadband because the electric in the area was down but as I now have a fibre connection I only needed to power the ONT. The vtoman had no problem powering that and the Amazon eero router. It might seem trivial but it kept me sane as my laptop was fully charged and I could keep in touch with family and watch a bit of YouTube. The next day I used the vtoman to run my microwave to heat porridge. It worked but it is a little under powered. It was a sunny day and I was able to charge the unit with the solar panels for about 3 hours. That's when I realised the first potential issue under these conditions. The units max input is 90 watts. I actually ended up connecting it to the 12v cigarette socket in the car and went for a drive! That was giving me a charge rate of 88 watts fairly continuously. Even so, my days charge was now only at 81%. It was getting cold and with no power for the heating I wondered if it could power the oil burner and the water pump. Both items running required 203 watts and with ⁸¹% charge the unit indicated the run time would be just over an hour. I was so glad of that heat though. Now the battery is exhausted and it's going to take 4 or 5 hours to recharge. Great little unit, was easy to use and it surpassed my expectations but I wish I'd bought something bigger and the reality is, I'll probably need a small petrol generator to recharge it, especially in winter. Im glad I bought it, but know your use case and plan how you will recharge it.

Easy to use, keeps devices charged
So I've had this for a year now and it's been great. We use it on camping trips to keep our devices charged, and I have a small camping kettle. This keeps us going for a weekend (much longer if I don't use my little kettle) but I have just brought a solar panel to help it last us a bit longer. It's very easy to charge up for the mains or via solar panel. It's heavy but easy to move. The only downside is the the clearance for plugs there just isn't enough room unless you have it proped up or on the edge of a table. If you just need to keep devices charged then this is a great option. I am very happy with it.

It does what it’s designed for no more no less.
It’s a small power station only 300 watt hours it means it’ll run a 100 watt light bulb for three hours. Or a 300 watt light bulb for One hour, or run 600 watt for half hour, 1200 watt quarter of an hour. You now get it. It charges most if it all usb offerings and has a 12v cig socket, It does what it’s designed for no more no less. I’d love to have the larger one, to me VTOMEN look and perform great. I use it I’n my camper van charged by Solar.
