If you don't have one, get this. If you're looking for 1 that works better, this is the one to get.
I've had a couple of sealers before this one, but this one is the best one I've had. If you don't have one or looking for a good replacement, this is it. If you're looking for your 1st one, this is a great one to get. and You will save so much money and you won't be throwing away spoiled foods like you do without one. I had a Anova pro vacuum sealer before buying this one. actually I had 4 of them in the last 11 months, they are awful and I got tired of returning them every 3 or 4 months ( my last one lasted 3 weeks ) for a replacement because they quit working. So I bought this one. I hope it lasts, but with the very good warranty, I don't have to worry about it. This is way better than the anova pro sealer and I like all the extra settings that my anova didn't have. The vacuum plastic roll that came with this is more flexible so it vacuums seals much better than my last one, I saw that the 1st time I used it, I was vacuum sealing cold smoked cheese that I had just smoked. the cheese will stay good for a year!. It get's too hot in the summer to smoke cheese so I'm glad that I can smoke all I need for the rest of the year now before it gets too hot. I also vacuum seal meals and meats and freeze them so I can buy "family" packs when they are on sale. and if I don't feel like cooking, I can simply grab a bag of something I previously cooked, thaw it out & heat and eat it. I have smoked ribs, pulled pork, chicken drumsticks, jambalaya.... all ready to eat whenever I want them. I portion them out before sealing and freezing them so I only have to open one bag when I'm ready. I also seal lettuce, mushrooms, black olives, etc. and keep them in the fridge and they stay fresh longer too, even avocados!. and I buy now my spices in bulk to save money and vacuum seal them to stay good for a long time. I especially like that the roll cutter is inside, right in front of the roll, That makes it soo easy to cut the length that you need when vacuum sealing. By vacuum sealing I have greatly reduced the amount of food that goes bad and get's thrown away. I wish I would have bought one years ago. I'm saving so much money now and not just because my food stays fresh longer. Instead of buying a 2 oz. jar of Italian seasoning or any spice for $6, I buy a 16 oz. or 32 oz. bulk jar for only a few bucks more and vacuum seal it in mason jars. & i run out before it goes bad, even if it takes a year or two. and you can marinade meats in a fraction of the time. you don't need to marinade overnight, it's ready in a couple of hours, but you can leave it in the bag much longer so it's ready when you are.

UPDATE at 5 months and 30 months -- (Still) far superior to all the other vacuum sealers I've owned
UPDATE at 5 months: After about 5 months the teflon covering on the heating element developed a small wrinkle, causing about 50% of the seals on larger bags to fail. I sent an email to the email address in the product documentation and received a reply several days later. The manufacturer-seller assured me that the unit has a 5 year warranty and I would be shipped a replacement. I received the replacement today. My 5 star rating still stands (maybe now 5 star plus?). Far superior product (in spite of the minor glitch) with a real warranty and great customer service. UPDATE at 30 months. Liked the first so well that I bought a second unit. Teflon heating element covering on both eventually started to bubble and come loose after thousands of repeated cycles. Found replacement Teflon tape on Amazon. 3/4" x 30' for less than $10 and restored both these units to full functioning. Very easy fix and both units still going strong. I have been using vacuum sealers daily for over 30 years. I always buy in bulk and repackage into the sized packages I'm most likely to use, including fresh meat. I've always fixed a weeks worth of meals for the family and vacuum sealed individual portions as well as leftovers. I do a big garden and freeze and vacuum seal much of the fruits and vegetables. I also homebrew and buy grains, hops, and yeast in bulk and vacuum seal them into package sizes that are most likely to be used in a batch. I've worn out at least 12 machines in the last 30 years, with most lasting two or three years at best. The most popular (and expensive) big box store brand seemed to wear out the soonest and I've tried most of the other popular retail brands. They all have their quirks. Most will only do a small number of consecutive seals before they overwork the motor or overheat (not good doing 50 pounds of grain, 80 ounces of hops, or several bushels of beans or peppers from the garden). Even if they have moist or gentle settings, very few will consistently and reliably seal bags that have moist or liquid contents (especially fresh meat) and having to freeze stuff ahead of time to seal it is a huge time consuming hassle. All the previous machines I've had required a lot of muscle and three hands to keep the bags aligned while the lid is pressed down evenly on each side. I've always felt I had to put a second seal on every bag just in case the first seal didn't really take (doubling the use/wear cycle of the machine). The VAKUMAR sealer is clearly superior in design and operation compared to all the other vacuum sealers I've owned. The one hand operation is effortless. I ran it for over 120 consecutive seals on brewers grains and hops and it didn't complain or get overly hot. The moist, liquid, and gentle settings really work well for fresh meats as well as pastas, sauces, and stews -- today I grilled, pulled, and sealed 5 pounds of juicy fresh chicken breast into 5 oz bags and every bag sealed and held the first time using the moist setting. The removable drip tray caught all the liquid sucked through during the vacuum cycle and cleaned up quick and easy. One of my favorite features is that the machine automatically double seals everything. It takes up a little more real estate on the counter than the other machines but not that much more. I'm not sure how long it will last but the design seems a lot more durable and sensible than other machines and if it actually lasts the full 5 year warranty it will have paid for itself several times over. I am not easily impressed but this machine gets 5 stars hands down.

Well worth the money. Love this sealer.
I absolutely love this sealer. It's very compact which means it takes up less space on my counter. It's designed to be quick and easy to use. Having the cutting feature inside and the double bar for a double seal gives a perfect seal every time. Slip a roll of bags into the container inside and your ready to go. I'm able to use just one had to seal with this machine. There are options for dry and wet sealing which is wonderful for liquids. This is well worth the money. I seal everything from fresh foods to bags that I have opened that I like to reseal to keep things fresh. And it's a breeze to cleanup as well.

Get the cheap one...
For the price point, this sealer is woefully underwhelming. At first, the sealer was better than okay. Not excellent, but a noticeable improvement over my previous $30 sealer. Right out of the box, the sealer is very slow to function. Large bag refills will not fit in the 'secret storage' area of the sealer. It's also not a 'one step' time saver feature of both storing the bag roll and cutting. At this point we're neck and neck with my 5 year old $30 starter sealer. So, okay, prices have increased... By $109. I think to myself, it's fine. I DO NOT have time for the hassle of returning. I cook in bulk a lot. I kept it on my counter top for a while, ignoring it's poor performance and almost convincing myself that it was me. Today. Snow day. Cooking a big pot of soup. Used half a big bag of lime beans, got the Vakumar sealer out to resell the bag. Nothing. Straight out of the freezer, typical grocery store vegetable bag. No sealer. Okay. No sweat, again, I must be doing something wrong. Try again. Nothing. I throw the beans out... Finish cooking the soup. Try sealing 2 cups of cooled soup in the Vakumar with the moist setting. It sucks the soup into the machine. Again, throw it out, new bag, plenty of air space at top, change setting to "Liquid". Same result and this time the Vakumar just stops the sealing process. It continually runs, like it's working, but never seals. Open the top, soup everywhere. Now, please don't get me wrong, I didn't expect miracles, but when one of the settings clearly reads "Liquid", and it's 3 times the price of about half the sealers on Amazon, I do expect it to seal liquids.

Good little machine
I have been using this for a few months now and has been great! I buy the larger family packs of meats/hamburger and this has been a safer for sure. No more freeze burn and ice getting around your food. I have even used it for cheese curds when we had a large bag to divide up. It is quick to you use once you use it a few times, and takes no time at all to pull it out and bag up your meats. I bought the extra rolls of bags instead of individual bags, that way you can just make the bag size that you need, which I think is better money saving. I debated for a couple of years about getting one and if it was worth it, but definitely is - I use it every week! If you are on the fence- you won't regret it! (I don't have the containers, so I haven't tried the hose attachment.)

Is the Vakumar Vacuum Sealer a Kitchen Gadget Game-Changer? My Honest Review (Spoiler Alert: YES!)
The Vakumar delivers! My current vacuum sealer had seen better times so it was time for an upgrade. I vacuum sealed a number of items and was very pleased with its flexibility and performance. One very important item, be patient… I made the mistake of releasing the seal prematurely when vacuum sealing steaks and thought it didn’t work. Once its vacuum portion is done, the matching makes a puffing sound that I thought signified its was done. Fortunately after just leaving it alone, it fully sealed what I was working on very nicely and with a double seal. The Vakumar has three modes: dry, moist, and liquid. You can choose the mode depending on what you are sealing. The liquid mode is especially useful for sealing sauces, soups, marinades, and other liquid-rich foods. The Vakumar also has a pulse button that lets you control the vacuum pressure manually, which is handy for delicate items. Its handle locked design makes it easy to open and close the lid with one hand. The LED indicator light shows the status of the sealing process, just need to wait for the blue light. The Vakumar also has a built-in cutter and bag storage, which makes it convenient to cut and store the bags. The order came with a starter kit that includes a roll of bags, a hose, and a connector. You can use the hose and connector to vacuum seal canisters, jars, and other containers. I'm very happy with this Vakumar vacuum sealer and would recommend it to anyone!

Great Job
This vacuum sealer is great! Nice price point too. Does all the functions you need to seal goods/meats for freezer food. We seal vegetables from our garden every year and we had an old terrible sealer. This one makes the process much nicer. Seals effortlessly, noise is low. We can use it in our kitchen with our 8 month old baby’s is napping in his room. (He’s a light sleeper). Highly recommended this sealer. Hopefully it holds up over time. Love the cutting feature inside and the bag storage inside the unit.
