Great deal on great drives.
I was initially unsure about purchasing used drives to fill my NAS with however after some research I found this seller to be reputable in their testing and warranty so I took a chance on these HGST 10TB drives for the price. They are certainly noisy enterprise grade drives so you probably won't want to install them into a desktop PC but if you do, the seller helpfully included a SATA power adapter to use to circumvent the PWDIS enterprise feature that will otherwise stop the drive from spinning on a non-enterprise system. Seller also included a warranty card and lots of information sheets, overall I have a very good feeling about them and all 5 drives I purchased are fully working without any SMART errors. Drives were very well packaged as well and exactly as described. I'll update this review on the warranty process if I have a drive fail within 5 years but I'm feeling confident I'll be taken care of in the event.

One bad drive, caught early during stress testing.
Like most new HDD's this 10TB drive came uninitialized and a partition had to be created and formatted which was no problem. The drive came bare bones as expected. The drive was initially stress tested by using it for continuous file transfer operations to fill the drive overnight. It was noted it was getting pretty hot in a temperature controlled environment after one hour of operation. The drive was found the next morning unrecognized by the system, it had failed, not being listed within the operating system whatsoever. Diagnostics and partition checks reported a bad drive. The drive was disconnected from power and allowed to completely cool down, it was still warm. Afterward it was hooked back up and started working once again, recognized by the operating system. Sector and surface diagnostics reported no issues. The failure was suspected to be caused by a heating issue involving either the internal hardware components or the drive interface card and deemed unreliable for continuous long term use and a return completed. It certainly wouldn't be great to lose 10TB of data by a drive that may potentially fail permanently in like manner. In all fairness it should be noted numerous large capacity recycled HGST drives have been purchased (primarily from goHardDrive) and have been in continuous use 24/7 for years now without a single issue. Any hardware components used in the hard drive can cause intermittent/permanent failures, sometimes not discovered until after heavy use and the initial return period has expired. Highly suggest always doing a thorough stress test on any new HDD to help reveal any gremlins waiting to be discovered ASAP. In this specific case a new 10TB hard drive, but different model all together, will be ordered as a replacement after receiving a refund (this model was depleted/unavailable in Amazon at the time of the return). Initiating the return was efficient and easy by Amazon providing a return label for shipping. 4 stars marked, just got a bad drive, it happens, but good it was caught early. Also note, this drive did advertise a 5-year warranty (renewed).

2nd drive - no issues yet
I just received my 2nd 10Tb drive (Dec 2023). 1st 10Tb drive I ordered was back in Jan2023. Both drives are working well & both are about 5yrs old (see pictures). The Seller is responsive to questions/inquiries and have confirmed the 5yr Warranty on these drives. The Drive comes "unallocated" so it will not show up on File Explorer (windows) - make sure to run Disk Partition app 1st, format & create a partition and the drive can be used normally. The 1st drive I ordered was lucky to survive the UPS delivery, the box was not pretty to look at. The 2nd drive was delivered by Amazon and the box/packaging is in good condition when received. I've been using the 1st drive as an offline backup for 11mos and I will be using the 2nd drive for Media Streaming attached to DIY RasPi4 NAS. I'm hoping both drives will function with no errors for many more years. My oldest regular Seagate drive is over 15yrs old, no errors yet (knock on wood) so I'm hoping these 5yr old HE10 Enterprise drive will last just as long if not longer if used with care. So far I haven't received a bad drive from this seller so I will definitely order again if I need more backup & media space.

Never buy these disks from these people, No honoring waranty
The promise of a 5 year warranty appears to be false. I contacted the waranter which turned out to be Western Digital for HGST Drives and was informed that these drives were not intended for other than OEM use and it was Amazon's responsibility. I provided both the purchasing orders from Amazon and dates well within the five year waranty. I contacted Amazon and they said it was the waranters responsibility. When I complained that the problem needed to be solved, I was assured it would be handled in 48 hours. I realize several weeks later this was just to get me off the phone. Over two orders I purchased 5 disks, two of which failed. What is clear is that so far the claim of a waranty, which is the only reason I purchased the drives, is not honored and 40% of the drives have failed so far after only two years. I I recommend that any claims of warantee for these drives are false and neither Amazon nor the HGST disk provider will honor the warantee. Stay away from doing business with these people.

great customer service
This is more a review of the customer service than the product. The product matches its specs. These are used drives, and could have problems. I specifically decided to risk these drives because they were low-cost AND because of the 5 year warranty. A month after installation in my NAS one of the three drives I ordered threw errors and went offline. I followed the instructions on the warranty card and was very impressed by the responsiveness and care I received. The seller paid for RMA return shipment and had new drive in my hand in less than a week. If you have a non mission critical workload, and raid config, these will provide an affordable path to storage.
