Durable and fun for multiple dogs!
I love these kong-on-a-rope toys! They do so many things right! 1. The plastic-like woven rope attached to the toy is long enough that it makes your effective "throwing arm" very long, which means you can easily get enough momentum in a swing to throw the toy very far. 2. The weight, heavier than toys with rope knots or tennis balls or tennis-ball-type cylinders on the end, also lets even my 68-year-old mother build up enough momentum in a relaxed throw to really get some distance and give the dogs a good long run. 3. The hard rubber of the toy at the end is very resistant to chewing. 4. The toy's odd shape and rubber composition makes it bounce unpredictably when it lands, keeping the dogs guessing and sometimes making your effective throw even longer. 5. The rope is long enough that we can have three or four of our dogs running side by side with the rope in their mouths at once! Very funny, cool, and cute to see the whole doggie family running with the same toy in their mouths! 6. The rope is tough enough that our dogs trying to pull it away from each other can't tear or cut it. Sometimes they bring me the toy and don't want me to throw it again, but want to play tug of war. I'll grab the end of the rope. One, two or three dogs will grab hold, and in a rowing motion, I'll lift them one (or all) off the ground at once and swing them to the side. That can be well over 100 pounds of dogs hanging on and being swung by the teeth, and the rope is fine. And they love the ride! Our 40-pounder loves getting as many rides as I can give her before I'm pooped. I guess that's another benefit -- I get exercise too! 7. It floats. I walk the dogs by a pond, and we've lost a few non-floating toys to it. 8. The orange toy and red rope are very easy to see in green grass or in brown underbrush. A lot of our dog toys have been in that green color you see on tennis balls, and they can be so hard to find when the dogs drop them in the grass. You've got to watch them like a hawk with those, but not with these. I got both my mother and my father kong-on-a-rope toys for their dogs for Christmas because I knew they love them too, but once in a while they lose one up in a tree. I told them I wouldn't say anything if they didn't want to tell the dogs, and just chew on the toys themselves, but so far they're willing to share. They're the perfect present for the man or woman who has everything -- something for their dogs!

Most durable yet
This is the only water toy my yellow lab has not destroyed in one play session. After a while, the rope where it meets the kong starts to fray but maybe that is more my dog's doing than the fault of the toy.

Great for Water and Land Retrives, Not for Tug
My son's 4 year old Dutch Shepard destroys most toys very quickly (she's a powerful and determined chewer). Kong's are much more durable than any other toy I've found. Yes, she can destroy one, but it takes literally 100+ hours of chewing. This is a very good all-around toy. They are easy to throw a long distance with the attached rope. They float well for hours of water retrieves. And, with the below caveat, they are a good tugging toy. My only criticism of this product may be an unintended use. My son's dog loves, loves, loves to play tug above all else, eating included. As long as this toy is perfectly aligned (rope pulling straight out of the hole), during vigorous tugging, no problem. If she pulls at an angle, I've had the rope and washer pull right out of the hole as it gets stretched open. It can be re-inserted with difficulty. Two people (three preferably) and two pairs of needle nose plyers, inserted into the hole and opened to stretch the hole, with ideally a third person putting the washer end of the rope back inside. Maybe this issue could be alleviated with a larger washer? It might also not be a problem with a less powerful tugger. Other than this, I'd give this toy 5 stars for durability and function. In fact, I just bought two more.

Kong swim toy for particular dogs
The only land and water toy for our minature dachshund and our oversized Aussie. Now seniors, they still love them. These are regular indestructable Kongs with a flotation cork in the big end and a long yellow nylon rope in the other end. Comes in three sizes, med, L, XL. Great for back yard exercise.. Great for easy-on-the joints throwing (Kong gently sings from the long rope). Great for humiliy (Kong goes where it chooses (e.g., trees) until you get the swing (sorry) of it). Great for making friends with retriever owners (if you throw the kong into the pond one more time than the dog wants to retrieve). Great for dogs with zero interest in balls, frisbies, or (God forbid) sticks. Great for dogs with a great respect for private property (each will only fetch his own Kong (see "make new friend"s, above). Warning: the heavier Kongs pack a wallop. Once killed an innocent garden snake in the back yard who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but so far have not brained the dachshund. (We have a lot of garter snakes in Colorado.) Have seen newbies throw the Kong backwards over their heads by releasing the rope too late.

Rope not durable
My 65# supermutt chewed through the rope within 10 minutes of receiving it! Had purchased for water retrieval but a little harder without the rope.

AWESOME for retrieval training & water play
I have to XL Labradoodles, live in South Florida with a pool! We always used tennis balls only for daily pool play. (NEVER EVER LET A DOG HAVE A TENNIS BALL TO CHEW ON AS IT WILL REMOVE ALL ENAMEL FROM THEIR TEETH) 1 of the mutts got stubborn about releasing the ball. So, I have used Kong products in the past & thought I would give these a try. PERFECT! They only get these for retrieving & pool play, then they are put away. We do not let them have these as a chew toy. I do not think they would last as a chew toy! But for retrieval training & water play they are AWESOME

Terrific dog toy
the best. Long lasting, durable rubber that dogs cant damage them. A superb toy for exercise low impact swimming or just throwing on land. With the short rope you can throw the ball twice as far . Terrific dog toy

Remember this toy is not a chew toy. It’s a toy for you to interact with your dog and play.
Great toy and will last if you use it properly. My dogs love it and it’s just a good size. Not for xl breeds . I would not let my dogs play with it alone because they can fit it all in their mouths and would chew it without too much trouble. It’s a throw toy and that is how to use it. Would not leave any dog with any toy in fear of them choking.☹️
