Doesn't damage carbon steel seasoning
I was using metal wok spatulas, including a popular metal one with a bamboo handle sold here. Turned food great but it kept wearing and scratching the seasoning on my carbon steel wok. So I got this bamboo one instead. It's a little smaller than the metal ones and obviously with a rounded wooden leading edge it doesn't "shovel" under food quite as efficiently, but it's effective enough. I've gotten used to using it and the difference doesn't bother me.While my seasoning is well on its way towards full recovery...There is an angle in the neck which is nice. The burnished bamboo does not really noticeably absorb liquids and accomplishes that without any extra coating, both pluses. Cleans easily. Cheap enough that if anything happens to it you can replace it without regret.Of maybe 16 utensils kept in containers by the stove, this is one of my top 4 users.

Joyce Chen?
This seems durable and helps me to use my woks more effectively. But, while the web page shows a photo of a spatula with Joyce Chen stamped on it, there is no marking on my spatula that identifies it as a Joyce Chen product. Makes me wonder if it was worth the premium price that I paid.

Ok, but not the replacement I was hoping for...
A few years ago I had purchased a bamboo angled spatual at World Market and absolutely loved it. It was sturdy and had a wide scraper area and best of all, it was like 3 bucks. Due to the material of bamboo, they have a tendency to wear down after long use moreso than rubber or metal, and when I went to replace mine I was frustrated to find that not only did World Market no longer carry it, I couldn't find one anywhere in stores or online. I came upon this one and thought I had finally found it, however upon arrival I compared the two and this one is almost half smaller in the scoop, which works but not anywhere near as handy as the width of my old one when scooping around in a big wok of food. My old one was probaly over 4" scoop width and this one is maybe around 2.5-3". Anyone who does much wok cooking knows the value in having a wide scoop. It works-I just like my old one better.

Cheap but sturdy.
I needed a different utensil for my carbon steel wok because the seasoning was being scratched by the steel spatula that came with it. I’ve had this bamboo spatula for a year now and it has held up fine with intermittent use. While it doesn’t scratch my wok the edge has worn down a little but not enough to be useless. It’s light, easy to clean, sturdy, and hasn’t splintered. You can rest it on the edge of a hot pan and it won’t melt or become too hot to handle. I try to wash it by hand every time I use it but it has been in the dishwasher on occasion and it maintained it’s original shape. This utensil is great if you want a cheap, basic spatula to beat up.

cleans up with soap and scrub, contour is fine, no scratch of seasoning
I use it in my 14" flat-bottom wok. No contour problems for me. Holding up well after a dozen or so uses, though getting pretty black on the business end. I scrub it with scour pad and soap, and it comes clean. Does not scratch your seasoning (metal ruined my seasoning).

Wok this way...
I prefer using wooden cooking tools. This wooden wok spatula works well but I found the long handle cumbersome and awkward. It should be at least 3 inches shorter.

Good product but sticky label that leaves a permanent residue
I got this item refunded because when I removed the small label it left a sticky residue which I haven't been able to remove. Unfortunately it was on the business end of the spatula and I don't want to use it. Why didn't they put the label on the handle or, better, use an adhesive which can be cleaned off?

Pretty good
It takes a bit longer to learn how to flip things than my old plastic spatula but I'm getting the hang of it. It's certainly better for my health and is easier to clean too.
