Peak District Trail Running is a comprehensive guide to off-road running in the Peak District National Park. With 22 runs, from 5km to 28km in length, this book is suitable for runners of all abilities. Runners are spoilt by the variety of terrain on offer in the Peak District. There are many runs that stay low, avoiding roads, following broad, well surfaced trails such as the Monsal Trail around Bakewell, or the trails around Ladybower Reservoir and Carsington Water. For the more experienced runner the area has some excellent challenges on the high, rugged moors of Kinder and Bleaklow in the Dark Peak. Researched and written by local runners Nik Cook and Jon Barton, each route features clear and easy to use Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 maps, easy-to-follow directions, details of distance and timings, refreshment stops and local knowledge, and a detailed appendix. Review: Great maps, descriptions and route planning - This is an excellent little guide of trail runs in the peak district. It has both a breadth of runs, spanning distances from under an hour to a full morning or afternoon. It also has a depth of variety in terms of terrain, difficulty and location (not just the obvious spots). I really like a guide that will take me to new places. Having said that, within 24 hours of receiving the book I went out and ran the Froggatt, Curbar White Edge run and was thrilled by the views across the peak and seeing a Stag hiding in the woods. This is terrain I know very well but it's the first time I've done this route and I was certainly inspired by the book to get out and do it. I look forward to trying more, if not all, of these runs over the next few years. Review: Better than I thought. - Great little book, good routes, some I already know but nicely set out.

Love it!
Love this book. Fits in my running waist pack and takes me on some fantastic runs I wouldn't have done otherwise. Instructions are clear and is so handy knowing where to park, what facilities there are and what the route will be like. Wish there were more books like this.

An informative book perfect for runners in Peak District/Sheffield
We bought this for my sister and brother-in-law for Christmas. They’ve recently got into running in the Peaks so we thought this would give them some new route ideas. The present went down well - seems informative and useful.

Not good value
Not very good value. Some nice routes but few of the runs seem to be around water reservoirs... don’t need a book and/or map for such a basic route!
