Very good for macro or studio. Review: Not great in 'portrait' mode - I bought this tripod a while ago, but its first proper outing was recent - a week in Switzerland. I intended to take lots of panoramic mountain shots. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the tripod stable when used with a Nikon D7000 and 70-300mm lens. This lens doesn't have a tripod collar, Nikon reckon it's not needed. However, when setup to take wide panoramic shots using the camera in portrait mode, the front of the camera 'droops' over time, so it doesn't stay level across the shot. I can't adjust it out, it just won't hold the camera stable. The legs are great. The head? Not so much. It's fine for most purposes, just not what I bought it for! Be careful if you intend to use this with heavy cameras or longish lenses.
