The Active IS (image stabilization) is like having a built-in gimbal—my handheld shots look so smooth it’s almost suspicious.The 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens is surprisingly versatile. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, portraits, or capturing my cat doing his best "lion on the savannah" impression, this lens handles it all like a champ.But here’s where it really shines: the colors. I just wanted to give my initial impressions, as this camera has so many many options and being a Sony shooter will take some weeks of use to get really into the menus and setups possible with the camera.So I'll begin by pointing out I've never used a Lumix previously.Comes nicely packaged with everything well protected, 2 chargers EU and UK a strap and the 20-60 kit lens has a nice petal hood.The rear screen can be moved out to the side and rotated, ideal for self shooting. It's really clear with great resolution and brightness.The on body controls are nice, everything feels premium and clicks into place nicely. The EVF is clear and can be set to basically wysiwyg in the menus. Having ISO and WB buttons at your fingertips is a bonus.The phase hybrid autofocus is fast and accurate and VERY impressive in low light.Talking of low light, at 6400 iso the noise on the images is really impressively low, with no changes made in post it's a very uniform noise, which means even without reduction it's a really clean looking image, even zoomed in.The camera is fairly lightweight, similar to a Sony a7iiiErgonomically it feels good in the hand and has fantastic, barely visible cooling vents which should make life easier for video makers.Video quality is great, recording up to 6k and with a whole load of menu choices to get into.Still image quality is really impressive as mentioned, with the kit lens at F3.5 and a 6400 being able to get such impressive low light results, I look forward to trying some f2.8 or better glass.The colour reproduction seems pretty spot on.I shot in RAW only, turns out Photoshop Camera Raw doesn't handle the RW2 files yet.I thought I was done for only to find out that you can process them in camera, even adding luts and resave as jpg. I may be easily impressed, but my mind was blown :DAs a Sony shooter, I'm really impressed with the Panasonic and look forward to really putting it through it's paces at some events over the next few months. Maybe It's time to switch?

I never used Lumix cameras before and boy oh boy I’m really really loving this S5 II !!!This camera is amazing! Really fully packed with everything you would need to produce high quality content.I don’t know why but as soon as I picked this camera in hand i just want to film with it! Just something about this whole body that just screams ,,let’s film something,,Alright let’s go through the pros of this camera.S5-II IS Really feature packed! My most favourite features would be in body stabilisation, low light capability and button layout.Stabilisation is just next level on this! There couple modes you can turn on and even in just 1st mode normal stabilisation is incredibly stable! With digital stabilisation on it looks like camera would be on the gimbal, is that good!Absolutely love low light capabilities of this camera! I do film a lot of low light stuff and this camera just made my workflow a lot better for them videos!Button layout is just sooo perfect and soo easy to get used to it. Everything feels like its in correct spot and very easy click or scroll. Also what i love about it that theres really a lot of them quick access buttons, they are super useful once mastered, in just couple days i got used to them really well which is very rare at least for me when using other bodies.Meniu has soo much to offer, theres really soo many useful settings and they are we’ll layout and easy to understandVideos capabilities is just superb, 6k footage looks incredible and soo many other options to use. 4k 60 fps is amazingly smooth.Phase hybrid af works super fast and found it to be very accurate with this kit 20-60mm lens.Another amazing feature of this camera is that it has full size hdmi port!!!Flip out screen is very nice as well and easy to control, love that everything is touch sensitive so you can quickly tap on settings.View finder great as well, sharp and easy to see throughOverall this camera body is just soo amazing and really really well built. Really thought about creatives in mind.Lets talk about the lens. This 20-60mm lets is great for beginners or even professionals. Lets is pretty sharp and produces great image/video quality. Well build and good resistance on control ring. Like this lens a lot!1 thing I don’t like about this lens is the lens cap, them notches where you would put cap in place are really small and for my bigger fingers its bit hard to remove it sometimesFor the camera is self i only have just 1 negative thing! And its battery. Battery life isn’t the best if you filming with it so i would recommend getting couple more batteries or what im thinking is to get battery grip and 3 more batteries to be fully set. Other then this it is super super great camera and amazingly priced.This is truly the best option on the market for content creators who focuses more on video production and at rhe same time can take absolutely perfect images!Can’t recommend this enough! Just get one and you will fall in love with it10 out of 10 for me this Lumix S5-IIAlso bonu point for Lumix support team. I had couple questions and they replied in about 1 hour and been super super helpful! Fantastic brand!

I come from a family of photographers, directors and all-round tech geeks. Between us, we have tried a wide variety of cameras, drones and all kinds of filming tech. We all decided this camera was phenomenal. The best full framed mirror less camera that is outstanding in just about every area.I feel like this camera is designed more towards social media content creators (influences) than anybody else and therefore in that category it does amazing.The video capabilities are exceptional and switching between video and still photography is completely seamless. This camera does incredible lowlight shots. An all-round, well designed and compact camera that comes with more settings than I could list on an Amazon review. The only downside would have to be when running shooting video the battery doesn’t last any longer than the previous models, so I’m going to go ahead and assume that although the camera technology has been upgraded sadly the battery is still the same. So I would advise ordering a second(or third) battery which is easy to do and can also be purchased from Amazon.To conclude, this is an exceptional camera that will not let you down. If you are looking to purchase a full frame, mirror less camera with all the best modern photographic technology.

Where do I begin? Okay, envision this: I'm learning my way around the world of DSLRs and mirrorless cameras as a total newcomer to photography. And then I get the chance of the Panasonic LUMIX DC-S5 II, which feels like a gift from the gods of photography.I must start by praising the excellent build quality. Although this camera is robust, it is surprisingly light and small. My hands felt amazing even after hours of shooting since the grip is so comfy. Because of its durability and weatherproof construction, I am less concerned while I'm out and about about unforeseen downpours.You get a very user-friendly interface after turning this on. I've found it to be really simple for someone like me who is only now beginning to understand all of this. Everything I need is literally at my fingers, so there's no need to dive deeply into complicated menus.Let's go on to the exciting part, the photographs themselves. Let me simply say that this camera can really take some beautiful pictures. Images from the camera's sensor are just stunning. My socks were knocked off by the level of detail and the depth of colour it catches. This bad boy didn't skip a beat, not even in dimly lit conditions. My nighttime and evening photographs were clear and noise-free. This camera simply won't let less-than-ideal lighting conditions slow it down.The LUMIX DC-S5 II is a powerhouse when it comes to video in addition to still photography. The colours are just as brilliant and have a crisp 4K clarity as they are in my still photos. I'm quite proud of the cinematic film I was able to produce with the help of this camera. My amateurish, shaking hands were smoothed down by the built-in image stabilisation, which also gave my videos a polished appearance. I am going to show my age here, but it's amazing what technology can do these days.Its included 20–60mm lens is a useful travel companion. It has handled everything I've thrown at it like a champ, from taking landscape photos to doing some portrait shooting. And that bokeh effect... it gives you silky smooth backgrounds that really makes my subjects stand out. I can see this being something I'm going to play with a lot while I'm learning photography.Another plus is the battery life. All day long, I was able to shoot without needing to recharge. When I'm out taking day-long picture expeditions and don't want to carry extra batteries; this is a major plus.Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Panasonic LUMIX DC-S5 II. It's a photography powerhouse concealed in an easily accessible shell. With this camera, improving my photographic skills is quite simple and doesn't involve my being overwhelmed by complicated settings. The Panasonic lumix DC-S5 twas already a phenomenal sounding camera, arguably already one of the do guest competitors on the market from the research I've done it. This DCS5 II succeeds in having those same features with some brilliant additions that make it competition with the highest end cameras at a midpoint price point.The autofocus is one of the game changing additions to this camera. I'm so impressed with the contrast this delivers and the ability to track moving objects against still ones. Added to this is improved stabilisation allowing for editing ready photos straight from the camera that need very little reworking done on them.The processor allows for some vivid coloured pictures to be captured without compromising on what you would see in really life.A truly phenomenal camera ideal for amateurs and still great for pros.

This camera is incredible. I've been out on a few trips to take photos with it and it's been great.The autofocus is quick and produces a clear image, and even on Auto mode you get stunning pictures with almost no effort.It feels pretty strong in your hands, all the materials feel very premium.It has a lot of dials and buttons but once you get the hang of them they become very useful and easy to use. I especially like how the screen can move around so you can view it from many different angles.I love this camera, it makes beautiful pictures and beautiful video. I can't image needing anything more out of a camera.

Excellent quality Panasonic camera & lens and the build materials is perfect and feels solid.I waited a while before doing this review because up until now I have only used Canon DSLR cameras and I have to say I personally found this a steep learning curve using a different camera brand and plus its a mirrorless camera. Also I am looking at this more from the point of view of photography but videography is something I want to do a lot more hence me getting this camera.I will start off with the phase hybrid autofocus which apparently is Panasonic’s first iteration of this and is what I am hearing everyone talking about for the S5 II, the cameras I have don’t have this just the standard face & eye detect in humans so I will admit I did not know what all the fuss was about. Then I set this up on the camera and I have to say WOW to say I am impressed is an understatement this is amazing locks onto face & eye if they turn around and have there back to you it will change to lock onto the head and then the body if they go further away I love this feature. Unfortunately I can’t compare this to other cameras/brands as I have not used any but for me personally I am wondering how I managed without this for so long it makes it so much more easier.I got this with the 20-60mm lens which at first I thought was a bit of a weird focal range as Canon has the 18-55mm kit lens which is something I have not used for a very long time. The build quality of the lens is excellent has the rubber seal so is weather sealed . Has a AF/MF switch on the side as do most lens but makes a satisfying click sound when you switch it so no chance of you not know when you change it which I like a lot. The zoom ring is stiff/tight which again I had mixed feelings about at first you will not be able to turn this with one finger which I am use to (unless you have very strong fingers) need the whole had but I have grown to like this there is no chance of me changing the focal distance by mistake or it changing it self when I am walking along and the camera lens is pointing downwards.The picture quality with this lens is very good, this makes a great all purpose lens at F3.5 to F5.6 if this is the only lens you have you will have to be closer to people if taking pictures of people and you want a close up shot but this is not that big of a deal I just had to adjust to this compared to the lens I have been using in the past and also its not a fixed aperture, I am shooting in manual mode so this kept throwing me off at first when zooming in & out.This is a mirrorless 24.2MP full frame sensor and can do 30 frames a second when in burst shooting mode which for me is amazing and it is SOOOO quite compared to my DSLR I know people always say that but this is the first time I have witnessed it for myself.Another great feature of this camera is the real time video & photo LUTS you can do on the camera no need to wait till you upload the photos to your computer or mobile device, now this is something newish to me as even in Lightroom/Photoshop I have never really used LUTS or presets and YES I know this must slow down my workflow but thought I best give it a try as I am reviewing the camera and I am very impressed and admit I love this feature and have been using it far more than I thought I would.Videography one of the reasons I have not really done that much of it on my Canon camera’s I have is the time limit, my older camera stops at fifteen minutes then you have to start recording again, my newer cameras thirty minutes and you have to start recording again. BUT as the S5 II has the two inbuilt fans on the camera you can record in theory for an unlimited time (of course this depends on the battery life time) but I recorded a 4K video at 25 frames for sixty minutes and had no issues and the camera did not even feel hot when I stopped recording which is a big bonus for meThis is a hybrid camera but I will say I feel this is more for people doing videography than photography don’t get me wrong you will take amazing photos with this camera BUT if you will only be using it to take photos I would say this is not the camera for you. On the other hand if you will be using it as it is meant to be a hybrid camera and at this price I would highly recommend this camera you won’t be sorry but of course it also depends what camera/lens brand you currently have.

A la hora de comprar una cámara de fotos y video hay que tener claro qué uso le vas a dar y demás. Porque con la calidad que tienen hoy los móviles y facilidad de subir el contenido a redes sociales, según para que cosas estarás tirando el dinero, es decir, para hacer 4 fotos en un viaje o en el día a día, no veo práctico usar una cámara de este nivel porque ya en sí transportar una cámara es un engorro, además que tendrás que usar ópticas diferente según para que cosas. "La mejor cámara es la que se lleva encima...".Entiendo que quien compra una cámara así tiene claro esto, y sabe que es un uso más especifico, es más, esta cámara se puede usar perfectamente para un uso profesional en grabación de videos, para que veáis el nivel de calidad que tiene. Es una cámara enfocada a videografos y fotógrafos.No voy a poner todo tipo de características porque ya hay mil videos y reseñas en internet, solo voy a poner mi experiencia y sobre todo en comparación con su predecesora S5 y otras cámaras.Esta cámara es una actualización de la Panasonic S5, ha mejorado notablemente el enfoque, poniendo un enfoque Hibrido de detección de fase que usan otras marcas como sony (de los mejores del mercado) eso de que tanto se quejaba la gente que tenía la antigua S5, que a la hora de usar el autofoco había veces que se "perdía", además de poner ventiladores (ventilación activa) para poder usar grabación ilimitada en 4k 10 bit, puerto HDMI completo, grabación 6k en open gate, herramientas especificas de video, un visor mejorado, dos ranuras de tarjetas Sd de alta velocidad, audio de 4 canales, etc.etc..Recordar que hay un modelo la S5ii X que se diferencia además de la estética, toda negra, tiene grabación externa en disco duro solido, grabación en apple pro res…etc..S5II: es una de las mejores cámaras relación calidad precio del mercado, sino la mejor, a la S5IIX le han dado un premio como mejor cámara de año 2023... Además de las cualidades que tiene como cámara que son excelentes, más orientado al video, pero que también en foto funcionan genial, tiene herramientas que la mayoría de cámaras del mercado no tienen. Destacar su ciencia del color, que al igual su hermana más antigua y todas las panasonic son diferentes a otras marcas, para mi gusto de lo mejor que puedes encontrar, colores más vivos y agradables, etc.. Se nota mucho cuando editas un video de otra marca y de esta, yo prefiero trabajar con colores panasonic, dicho por profesionales también, no solo de un mindungui como yo, jajaja. También decir que jamás me ha dejado la S5 tirado en ninguna grabación, he grabado en pleno mes de agosto con 40 grados a 4k durante más de una hora sin decir nada, y luego el gustazo de casi no tener que editar los colores porque ya de la cámara salen perfectos. En cambio otras cámaras se han calentado y me han dejado colgado, solo por eso ya sé que la Panasonic no me va dejar tirado y me va a facilitar mucho más el trabajo. Una cosa que quizás me gustaría es que tuviera una cámara lenta de 4k 120fps, etc.. Pero bueno, ninguna cámara es perfecta. Quizás esa velocidad de enfoque, y alguna mejora así hace que sea mas atractiva que comprar una antigua s5, pero también creo que en altas luces y calidad es hasta mejor la s5… Ojo. Otra cosa que echo en falta, es que han quitado la doble exposición que tenía la s5 y alguna herramienta más de fotografía que en mi caso usaba mucho, no sé si esto lo añadirán en actualizaciones, pero me fastidia, oírlo panasonic, la gente usa también esa cosa que se llama doble exposición y en algunos casos se han ido a otra marca por eso.S5: Este modelo que también tuve, cuando todo el mundo echaba pestes por el enfoque automático, yo flipaba lo bien que funcionaba todo, cierto que el enfoque era algo lento o menos reactivo que otras cámaras, solo a veces, pero la verdad es que muchas veces no se usa o tampoco es un mal muy grande, salvo que quieras tirar en enfoque automático en acciones rápidas etc… Pero por todo lo demás ya me parecía una cámara de lo mejor y fue muy criticada por el enfoque automático, y ahora resulta que todo el mundo dice que es un camarón… Pues sí, es un camarón la s5, sobre todo porque por 1500 euros la puedes encontrar con el objetivo kit 20-60 y no existe un cámara con tanta calidad y tan barata full frame. Es más, en altas luces funciona un poco mejor que su nueva actualización s5II y los colores quizás también un poco mejor. Así que si te da igual el enfoque automático es una super opción. Tiene salida a monitor externo, se puede cargar mientras graba, Vlog, etc.. Para mi de lo mejor. Pero si quieres enfoque automático, grabar en mayor resolución, etc.. Ves a por la S5ii, y si quieres grabar en disco externo, pues ya la s5IIX, aunque por la diferencia de dinero que hay mucho tiene que merecer la pena, ahora la S5IIx cuesta casi 800 euros más que la s5II.Otras marcas: Como os he dicho, otras marcas tipo Sony, me han dejado colgado grabando video y eso es imperdonable, una de sus ventajas es que llevan mas tiempo en el mercado con la montura “E” en sus objetivos y tiene mucha más variedad, tiene objetivos de 200 euros que son tremendos, como el 50mm 1.8.., en cambio la montura L de panasonic es nueva y todavía no hay mucho objetivo, pero la verdad con los propios de la marca vas sobrado y tienen una calidad brutal, hasta el 20-60. Tengo varias cámaras sony y la verdad que son buenas máquinas, hacen fotos espectaculares y raramente fuera de foco, para deportes yo creo que las mejores, pero en video para mi gusto cojean un poco, sobre todo por el calentamiento y la estabilización, que es horrible, pero por todo lo demás en fotografía son espectaculares, aunque también pasen de usar herramientas de fotografía en su software como la edición, doble exposición, etc.. El enfoque de Sony es de lo mejor del mercado, pero claro el precio muy superior a panasonic…Dicho esto, vaya chapa…. Me compraría un S5II ? jajajaj ya tengo una, y tuve una S5. Pues por el precio que tienen no existe nada mejor en el mercado, si tengo una s5 la actualizaría por poder grabar 4k 10bit ilimitado y el enfoque automático, porque yo sí usaba esto, pero si esto te da igual no te merece la pena, de hecho en algunas cosas me gustaba más la S5 original, lo dice mucha gente, pero es que necesitaba grabar ilimitado en 10bits, y el enfoque automático rápido. Ya os digo que a 4k 8 bit para el 90% de las personas les sobra, es muy bonito grabar 4k 12bit etc… Pero te vas a arruinar en discos duros como grabes mucho tiempo, porque los ficheros ocupan miles de Gb y el ordenador que tengas igual no puede moverlos… Así que olvidaros de esa moda “chora” de tener lo ultimo. Para fotografía sigo usando mis sony porque tengo muchos objetivos y me gustan las fotos que hace Sony pero para video panasonic si o sí.La panasonic s5II es una cámara que no decepciona, tiene la tecnología suficiente y herramientas suficientes para que en foto y video no eches de menos ninguna otra marca, y por entorno a 2000 euros tienes una camara con un 20-60mm que te va a servir para casi todo, no existe nada igual en el mercado.

I love this camera. Everything works like it should. The L-mount system offers the best videofeatures for hybrid camera markets and is great for pictures as well. The camera only starts to sweat in disco/party settings. It's truly amazing and if you need better bodies you can easily upgrade to the S1II or S1RII. I wouldn't recommend the 20-60mm f3.5-5.6, but it's usually cheaper this way. If you need a starter lense the 50mm f1.8, Lumix S PRO 24-70 f2.8 or Lumix S 24-60 f2.8 would be my recomendations.
