Lovely piece of solid oak. Had to give it a light sanding as comes a little bit rough. I really enjoyed sanding it so am super happy with the quality and the price compared to similar sized pieces of solid oak.

I selected this product because to the price, that it was in stock, had a fast (2 day) and free (Prime) delivery. For that alone it seemed to be very good value for money. The top is perfectly manufactured with very tight engineered joints, straight sides, uniform thickness, and as others note sharp edges from the very square finishing. I have not seen any filling of joints or voids. Investing a little time and effort with a fine sandpaper to smooth the surface, break the corners and finally finish with a Danish Oil to bring out the colour, grain and beauty is very satisfying. I will point out that I selected the side that would be the top through the plastic covering so as to leave it protected whilst I drilled the holes and installed the fixings required to fit it. After completing assembly and finally removing the protective film I discovered that the manufacturer had designated an "Underside" to the product with a black ink stamp. Unfortunately it was not the same sided that I had chosen so the black stamp was now on the top of my desk! Frustrated with the time I had to spend sanding the stamping out, I did wonder why this was done in the first place, especially as I though it was the wrong choice!

As other reviews say, this is a lovely piece of wood and makes for a fantastic looking desk. It doesn't have any holes in it for legs to be attached so you'll need to measure these and drill them yourself, but it's straightforward enough to do. The desk needs a bit of sanding down and (preferably) some wax to protect it, but once done is all ready to go. Would definitely recommend it if you like the look.

Good oak table / desk top nicely made finger jointed oak. You will need to finish it round corners sand varnish oil wax or finish to your choice. It was well packed and protected.

Exellent service and product.

This is a lovely piece of wood and after a bit of work looks superb. Warning, it is really heavy! Day 1. I pre-drilled holes for the legs and cable trays, which I bought from another site, sanded with P120 paper, then P180, then softened the sharp edges with the same paper, cleaned the dust and gave it a coat of Osmo PolyX-Oil. Day 2. Flipped it over and did the same sanding, cleaning, and oiling on the top side. Day 3. Another light sand with P240, a clean, and another coat of oil. Day 4 a final light sanding to de-nib any swollen fibres, cleaned it, flipped it over and attached the legs. Even though the holes are pre-drilled you'll need to use a drill with screwdriver attached to get the screws in, this wood is hard. A bit of work, but well worth it.

I ordered two 800mmx1500mm for my desk with the 27mm thickness. Once I received it I had to sand it down and add some danish oil but after that it's absolutely great, compared to other desks it's got a great pattern/grain and looks even better with oil on. Like other comments have said it does need some work, but well worth it for the final product. If you are looking for a solid, long term desk that really is great quality and don't mind an hour's time of work. You have found you're desk. And if you need anymore convincing from what I read they source everything sustainably so even better!!
