I absolutely love the LEGO Great Wave set — it’s one of those builds that feels like art from start to finish. It looks amazing on display and gets compliments every time someone walks by. The app-based instructions were smooth and actually made the build more fun, and once it’s hung up it feels solid and secure. LEGO did a fantastic job turning an iconic artwork into bricks — relaxing to build, beautiful to look at, and totally worth it.

Easy to assemble, pretty study and stable, fun to put together!

I haven’t built a LEGO set since I was a kid, but when I saw the Great Wave off Kanagawa had been turned into an Art set, I had to have it. I’ll admit I was initially intimidated by the 1,810 pieces proclaimed on the box, but now that it’s complete after approximately 5 hours, part of me wishes there were more, so the build could continue. Assembling this reimagined work of art was a sublime pleasure. Overall notes: - The build guide booklet was top notch; very easy to follow, and intuitive, especially for the frame. - Building this work had a true flow; everything progressively and harmonically working towards the end result. Watching the waves build and rise up when I would take a step back to look at it was quite inspiring. - The accompanying podcast was incredibly interesting, informative, and made some of the more monotonous/repetitive portions of the build oddly pleasant. I could plug down seemingly endless circular color bricks while learning more than I ever imagined about the history and process of the original woodblock print. - The finished product is astounding, full stop. If you’re an adult who, like myself, hasn’t ventured into the brick world since childhood, trust that this is well worth the cost, and it is time well-spent.

As someone who builds a lot of Legos, I’ll admit this set was a bit tedious at times. But still really fun and satisfying once it all came together. The final Wave painting looks incredible, and it was surprisingly easy to hang. It’s a unique display piece that adds a modern, creative touch to the room. Definitely worth it.

Looks beautiful when it’s done, a fun build that isn’t complicated like I know some other art sets can be. Is at a decent price and has easy mounts built in to place the set on 2 nails in your wall.

I absolutely loved building this set. It is now proudly hanging on my living room wall and it looks fantastic. The 3D design really stands out and gives the artwork depth that you do not fully appreciate until it is finished and mounted. The build itself was average in difficulty overall, but the background section with the small circular pixel style pieces definitely requires patience and strong attention to detail. That part takes time and focus if you want it to look just right, but it is also very rewarding once completed. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of building this set. It was relaxing, engaging, and satisfying from start to finish. If you enjoy detailed builds and want a display piece that feels like real art, this one is worth it.
