Washing machine drain cap
Moving house, I wanted to make sure that the kitchen sink drain wouldn't leak after removing the washing machine so ordered this plug which fits perfectly for the new owners!

Not BSP, so too large!
The standard size for a UK washing machine hose/tap is 3/4 inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) This is a confusing measurement; if you measure the thread with a ruler it comes out as one inch (1.041 inches to be accurate). The supplier seems to have made the same mistake; they've sourced 1 inch BSP, rather then one inch inside diameter, so you will be sent 1 inch BSP when you actually need 3/4 inch BSP. What to do? If you need to block off a washing machine tap (because your bought a newer washing machine that needs only the cold water inlet, so you now have a spare hot water tap that needs to be made safe from little prying hands), search Amazon for "3/4 inch BSP cap". A plastic one will do. If you want a cap to fix a slightly leaking tap (e.g. where you get one drop every hour, so not enough to call out a plumber but enough to make the back of the washing machine really musty), choose a brass one with a rubber washer inside. That should seal the leak and last as long as the pipe. FWIW, I ended up ordering Brass cap 3/4" BSP and washer

Nice bit of kit, if only it was what I thought I ordered. I put in a search for hozelock end cap and this came up so I ordered it. It turns out it's a waste pipe end cap twice the size of Hozelock fitting. 😬

Forced to give one star to post review
Waste off time it does not fit washing machine outlet or anything else it’s far too big!! This must be why they don’t put the measurements of the product. And looking at other reviews I’ve fell into the same trap. Sort this out also Amazon.
