Fantastic Ornaments (Dover Pictorial Archive)

Bought as a reference for my own drawing and tattooing I found this book to have lots of useful flowing designs that I can easily incorporate into many pieces. Very useful I recommend buying it. Also the fact that the images are line drawings leaves the rest to your own imagination to continue once you find the flow you are looking for.

Almost, it is a great book however each image has been scaled down so it's hard to see the line work of which each image is comprised. Ideally one would be able to see each stroke, with images reproduced 1:1.

An absolute must for everyone that is arty! I very much love this book. It is printed on nice paper, the graphics are clear and very very interesting. Book arrived quick enough.

Love all these books and they are a great resource for me as a designer. Beautiful clear examples of ornament.

Considering the price and the size of the book, the content is actualy very inspiring. All the book is in black and white but, in this case, you don't actualy need color pictures. Good buy.

Clear simplistic drawings Amazing horrors and ideas of fearsome creatures. The book arrived on time in fact it arrived with 3 others in a matter of hours!!!! Thank you kept me occupied for hours.

今現在の値段に見合わない仕立ての （購入時為替158円） 安っぽい、内容量も少ない本なので 用途によると思います。 大判ムックって感じで 国内で印刷された資料本の方が〜とも 思うのですが 無駄なウンチクにページ取られてるような ただ高額な資料本よりは 全然マシです あと この手の本を 保護無しで送ってくる上 無理やりポスト投函するので ポストサイズが小さい方は 気を付けてください。 入ったヤッターじゃねぇよって感じで 端っこが折れてしまいました。

Als ich vor dem Kauf die Amazon-Rezensionen zu diesem Buch gelesen habe, hatte ich eigentlich ein Buch unterster Qualität erwartet mit halb verwaschenen Grafiken. Für den günstigen Preis hätte mich das auch nicht verwundert... Ich war sowieso nur auf der Suche nach Inspirationsmaterial. Allerdings wurde ich dann entsprechend positiv überrascht. In meinen Augen ist die Druckqualität nämlich gut. Man erkennt jeden Strich der feinen Radierungen! Die Aufmachung des Buches ist dem Preis entsprechend. Es handelt sich hierbei nicht um einen hochglänzenden Kunstkatalog. Stattdessen wurde ein gewöhnliches, helles cremefarbenes Papier benutzt. Die Drucke muten schwarz bis dunkelgrau an. Für jemanden, der ein Referenzbuch oder etwas für das Auge (mit nicht allzu gehobenen Ansprüchen) sucht, ist die Qualität vollkommen ausreichend. Zum Herauskopieren sind die Grafiken eher bedingt geeignet. Zwischen den Buchdeckeln ist auch das, was das Cover verspricht: stilisierte Pflanzen, Tiere und ein paar Fantasiegeschöpfe (Drachen, Greif, etc.) der gleichen Qualität. Das ist natürlich sehr positiv, da man gerade von so günstigen Büchern kennt, dass auf dem Cover das mit Abstand schönste abgebildet ist, der Inhalt des Buches dann aber gewaltig zu wünschen übrig lässt. Ich persönlich finde das Buch großartig. Es ist genau das, was ich gesucht habe.
