Now you're talkin'! I have fine but thick short hair and every brush I've tried just didn't cut it. They would feel good at first but then they are unable to truly get to the roots and brush through the hair. This Goody hair brush can be as gentle as you like or strong enough to brush the hair through to the roots. And the handle is longer than most hair brushes and is very comfortable in the hand. I'm so very glad I purchased it. I know some reviewers have stated that the bristles can come out but I don't see that and if they do to the extent the brush is no longer usable, I'll buy another one! It's that good.

This brush is a great product. It does work well on all hair types.

The bristles are soft yet sturdy enough to brush the hair well; I love it, and the color is nice, too.

Warning: if you're looking for a brush with thick, soft bristles, this is NOT the one for you! The bristles are thin/fine, and surprisingly stiff. If you're older like me and have thinning hair you might even find it a little bit scratchy, but my hair is also and always has been very fine, so this was exactly what I was looking for. They're even stiff enough I can part my hair using this, so away went the comb I used to use - no longer needed! Worked so well I bought a second one.

I waited a while before reviewing since l wanted to see how long the brush would last. I did not like how it was designed since it is not a one piece design like the one l was replacing. Had it for a very long time, same brand, wore out the bristles. Unfortunately what l thought would happen happened. The handle started separating from the back of the brush head after about 2 years and 3 years in, it has completely separated. It was fine until it started to break, strong bristles that were able to handle my thick hair (wet and dry) and also give a good scalp massage. I wish it lasted longer.
