It is very well made: it’s true that the hinges look insubstantial but I have used products with similar ‘living hinges’ and they can be extremely durable and less prone to the problems that metal hinges can suffer from. As there is a generous 3 year guarantee with this i have no worries on that score. And frankly I have had several interior letter box flaps using brush draft excluders and hinged plates which have been a nightmare for people to post material through AND have broken because excessive force was required to post letters through. I particularly like that there is a sort of cushion between the frame of the flap and the door which makes the fitting really neat and also keeps out all drafts. There is a similar facing between the frame and flap itself which also reduces the sound of the flap’s closure. I was supplied on request with a really useful guide ramp which works a great in directing post through larger than standard door opening: this has been a problem for years as post can get snagged and spoiled if it catches against all the others devices I’ve tried. Very helpful and prompt customer service too.
