I decided to swap out the factory radio in my old Toyota pickup because I wanted modern connectivity without ruining the truck's interior vibe. I specifically didn't want a giant touchscreen that would look out of place in an older dashboard; I wanted something that felt tactical and straightforward. This receiver ended up being exactly what I was looking for. The design has a cool, slightly retro style to it, mostly due to the large, central volume knob and the high-contrast display. It fits the aesthetic of an older vehicle perfectly. I also really appreciate that it is a "mechless" unit, meaning it completely ditches the CD player. I haven't used a physical disc in years, so dropping that legacy tech makes the unit lighter and focuses the interface on what actually matters: Bluetooth and digital media. The sound quality is a significant jump up from my previous setup. The audio is clear, and the connection to my phone is instant every time I start the truck. The buttons are large and easy to find without taking your eyes off the road, making the interface very user-friendly. If you want to bring your daily driver into the current decade but prefer physical buttons over touchscreens, this is a smart route to take.

Absolutely fit the Bill of what I was searching for. I love the simplicity and the amazing sound quality. The kenwwod in-dash dvd unit that this one replaced was not up to the task for sound quality, and the DXP395MBT is a total upgrade. The pricing just well worth the cost.

I installed this stereo in my 1999 Pathfinder and I'm very satisfied with it. It didn’t fit the dash opening perfectly—there’s a small gap at the bottom of the radio—but it still looks great unless someone inspects it very closely. Honestly, it’s not a real issue. Maybe a dedicated kit would fix it, but I’m not concerned. What truly matters is the sound, and this stereo made a huge difference. The audio quality is excellent, and it offers tons of sound calibration options—maybe even more than necessary. The menu is wide and, in my opinion, easy to navigate. I’ve tested various MP3 file formats and they all play without any problems. The volume knob is comfortable and easy to adjust without distraction while driving. Overall, it’s a great product with outstanding sound quality.

Everything you would expect from a Kenwood deck. I like the old school look of it as I installed in a 91 Land Cruiser. Looks right for the era of the vehicle. Easily paired with my iPhone 16 pro and Bluetooth links quickly when first started. Great deck if you’re looking for an old school look with newer built in features and EQ for the price.

Kenwood DPX395MBT Double DIN in-Dash. no high end frequencies even after all the trouble shooting guides. Had to max out the low end settings to get moderate bass. Not for people that actually like music.

Fit and looks are good. Plays USB and Bluetooth seamlessly. But it lacks a simple input to dim when the headlights are turned on - the display is bright at night. Also, if I had to buy it again, I wouldn’t. The volume control spin knob is way too easy to spin and hard to hone down while driving to a specific volume, especially on a bumpy road - I think I’d prefer a touch-button volume control. Getting through the menus is clumsy at best. I’m pretty disappointed considering it’s a Kenwood and their legacy in products.

Great sound, much better than my 10 year old JVC. Lots of features

When you want something inexpensive but sounds great. Connects to my phone instantly for bluetooth and calls, powers external amps with a strong clean signal, can handle large USB music files. No complaints. Love the big volume nob.

Venía siempre de utilizar marca Alpine buscando buena calidad de sonido, y ahora decidí darle la oportunidad a Kenwood principalmente por cubrir un hueco de doble din, y ahora que lo uso afirmo que está unidad no decepciona en nada, comenzando por la estética que es bastante agradable, además de un sin número de funciones y configuraciones que aún no termino de explorar, y es que ofrece una excelente calidad de audio, por lo que no he tenido la necesidad de hacer demasiados ajustes.

Muy buen sonido, con 5v en el pre, bastante bien si no quieres multimedia, este equipo se basa en calidad de música. No de multimedia. Recomiendo este modelo Excelon x encima de los demás modelos de Kenwood.

Sustituí una pantalla Pioneer AVH-X4700BS por esta unidad y el cambio de la calidad de sonido es muy notable. Es un sonido más cálido y llena mejor los espacios del sedán mediano que uso. Reproduce música en formato FLAC de manera impecable... Muy buena unidad.
