Not even electrical epilators get each hair first go anyway. I was in stitches as I tried it out. I could feel it grabbing the hairs (and of course it's not totally pain free) which made me laugh my socks off. Full marks for amusement value! It's one of those things that you kind of want to play with like a toy. I think if you've never epilated before there may be a bit of scream factor. If you're used to epilating then you'll kind of know what to expect. If it's your first time with this and you have a lot of hair, proceed with caution. Probably best to go for threading to thin it out first, then use this. Then use it consistently. Also, toe your hair well back from your face, watch how close you go to your hair line and don't go near eyebrows or lashes. Once this baby grabs, it's hard to get it to let go!Keeping the above points in mind, I'd recommend. Initially, I found it too painful to use. I gave up and went back to salon waxing, which is hugely expensive. Then I got fed up with salon bills again and decided to give it another go. This time I am very pleased with it. I think success depends on your technique and staying on top of the job.So, after a solon wax, I used my Epi-smooth as soon as the hairs started to grow back. I find bending the spring into a gentle arc and making small rubbing finger movements back and forward works best for me. I do it every day or two, using a magnifying mirror, and I'm really pleased with the results. I finish off the odd one or two strays with tweezers. I haven't been for a salon lip wax for months. Saving a fortune.:)I'm sure its a matter of technique.
