Perfect
I was a bit confused at first which replacement was needed for my delta shower.. There are two available that look similar, but in the end they are not. The photos helped me determine this was the correct, also there are some online videos that can help point to the correct one. Once figuring out I had the older model and not newer, the question really was will a $25 replacement (generic) work the same as $80 oem replacement. Put you worries to rest, this fit perfectly and works just as well, couple new (hot water option settings) but not difficult to figure out. would recommend 100%

The cartridge fits a 1400 Series
I was able to install this onto a 1400 Series without any issues however there are two things I want to mention about the product. One, the lever dial to set the water temperature is a bit hard to pull and dial at the same time but is doable. I had thought I received a faulty one but after some pulling with pressure, I was able to pull the dial far enough to adjust it (it made a light clicking sound when it reaches the point of being able to dial it). Two, when placing back into the housing, it will be very snug, in fact, it won't go pass the rubber seal. What you need to do at this point is leave it as is, insert the lock ring, then tighten, and as it tightens, the rubber will work itself in for a good locked seal.

WARNING!
WARNING! THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE VALVE NOT THE SELLER (ALTHOUGH THE SELLER PROBABLY ALREADY KNOWS THIS ISSUE EXISTS, I SUSPECT). This valve (I will call it the POS valve) has a design flaw for some faucets (like mine apparently, the only one of its kind in the universe, a true unicorn faucet named Delta). Based upon the great reviews, I purchased this POS valve. What could go wrong, it looks exactly the same as my original delta valve. Its even got the exact same blue color! It has to be exactly the same and just as good, for such a low price I might add. Delta, those highway bandits! Charging so much for plastic! When I replaced my old delta valve (corroded to the valve body after 2 decades of use) with this POS valve, there was a 1/8 - 2/8 inch gap between the POS valve and the valve body. Due to the amount of corrosion, removal resulted in torn muscles and me aging 10 years. And, no matter what I did I could not get the POS valve to seat properly, even when I tried to compress it with the retaining ring. I wasted about 2 hours fooling around trying to seat the POS valve properly and mentally aged another 10 years. My spine, aged 15 years. You idiot, I thought to myself. You damaged the valve body when you pulled old delta valve. Its old, like you, and needs careful movement for its original chair, I mean valve body. My wife was right, I cried out aloud, so all could hear. I should have hired a plumber, we can afford it, if we sold a child! My daughter magically appears behind me and asks in a princess like manner, "when will the shower be ready to grace my presence". Like Napoleon at his end, I decided to retreat. Hanging my head in shame, I pop the old delta valve back in to call quits. It popped right in and seated properly. Ah, how the old delta valve fit like a pair of gloves. In an Einstein like moment, I pulled the delta valve and visually compared it to the POS valve. They looked exactly the same. Surely, the eyes do not deceive. Not to let my princess down, I drove to my local big box store at high speed and bought a new delta valve, paying the delta bandits their ransom. I popped it in and it seated perfectly into valve body. A true miracle of precision engineering, NASA-like no doubt. I finished up the job without any other issues, saving my dignity and savoring a moment of pride. The royal shower is ready for the princess, I cried out. The world rejoiced and all was good in heaven and on earth. So, I don't know exactly what it is but this valve has a design flaw for certain faucets. If you choose to use this valve, make sure you have an original delta handy in case it doesn't fit. Total wasted time for me was 5 hours. I hope you like my review.

Worked with issues
Updated 9/12/2023: Seller JJ hardware reached out after my original review and took care of me. Considering it's a 5 minute job to replace this valve, if you have any concerns trying this non-oem branded valve, don't worry about. ____________________________________ Original review: The good news, the valve solved my shower dripping issue and functioned as expected. The bad news, everytime my well pump turned off the plumbing had audible water hammer. So, I broke down and bought the delta OEM valve and sure enough the water hammer went away. If you're on city water this valve may work fine, it functions just like the name brand, but if you're on a well save yourself the hassle and just pay more for the delta branded valve.

Good valve, be careful on installation
Great replacement for the OE leaky valve. A little hard to get lined up and tightened in, but solved the water drip in the shower.

Stopped the drip
This is a good product and I liked the fact that it included the retaining ring. The new parts went in easy and it works perfectly. Removing the old parts was a job, cutting off the ring and cleaning everything up took some time.

Would not fully seat no matter what I tried--apparent tolerance issues --Update
I spent at least an hour trying to install this new cartridge, and it would not fully seat so that I could install the nut. I used so much pressure I thought I was going to push the valve body into the next room, and this is after using silicone faucet lube on every external part. If I removed the small o-rings from the back, the cartridge would slide into place. But even if I put on the old flattened o-rings from the old cartridge, it would not. This tells me that either the spacing between the two back projections or the depth of the o-ring grooves were misengineered or poorly molded. Also, the supplied hold down nut is shorter and with fewer threads than the original so with the cartridge even slightly out from its normally seated position the nut would not engage. I was hoping that installing the nut would help force the new cartridge into place. The old nut would engage its threads but as I was snugging that down the front half of the new cartridge spun clockwise beyond what should have been its lock point. So the internal stops are insufficient. All of this was frustrating to say the least, given that the water was off to the whole house during this time. Ultimately, I took all of the new o-rings and internal cups and springs from the new valve and installed them into the original 23 year old valve, which slid into place with no issue and no leaks. Obviously I can't recommend this cartridge, given the level of frustration I experienced and money I wasted. Update: After posting this review, the seller reached out to me and offered a full refund. Because I had used parts off of the new cartridge to fix the old one obviously I could not return it, and they were fine with that. The seller was very clear that I was not expected to alter my review in any way, but great customer service deserves recognition. I upped my rating from 1 star to 3 for that reason.

Perfect Fit at a Fraction of the Cost
I found this delta shower cartridge and it fits perfectly, plus it was way cheaper than expected. I've had it for a few months now and no leaks so far! Highly recommend.

A few tips about this cartridge
I few things I'd like to share: - My old cartridge was the same size but it had a different hot water adjusting system - it had a brass ring/"cog". I was afraid that I ordered the wrong cartridge when I compared both. Apparently, this cartridge uses a different/easier system to adjust hot water - you need to pull the plastic ring and rotate it to adjust the hot water. So, don't freak out if it doesn't look the same :) - I've seen a few people have difficulties with the installation. I found that if you put the cartridge halfway and use the original round "nut", it will push the cartridge to its position without any problems. I'm not sure if this is a bad method and could damage o-rings so keep that in mind. Also, I've seen people recommend using faucet lubricator for those o-rings - I'll definitely try to use the lubricant next time. I've installed it a month in basement shower but I rarely use it. No issues so far

Questionable quality
The Cartridge operation became tougher and tougher over time and now It has loud screeching sound when you turn on Or off. This doesn't come anywhere near the original Delta park replacement
