I have used a cordless Babyliss brush for years but for some inexplicable reason they stopped manufacturing the one with the larger barrel so when mine finally stopped working a replacement was needed...the Babyliss simply heated up when it was switched on and quite quickly was ready to use which is what the Wahl does, there is no complicated 'hold this down for 3 seconds' or different heat selections and it doesn't annoyingly switch itself off if a finger accidently touches a button like some do! Like so many, especially the ones with the large barrels, there is nothing 'misting' out of it into your hair that only made mine limp and defeated the object of using it entirely! I have had no problems with it being too hot for my quite fine hair although I am using a heat protecting 'volumising' mousse before drying. I would recommend this hot brush and consider it amazing value for the price! Only negative is that there is a little gap between the brush and handle which can sometimes catch my hair & pull it but i just try to avoid it & then theres no issues!
