its designed to grate potatoes - parmesan cheese maybe too hard

I don't think it does - as far as I know it only fits the 5 and 6 series

Does it shred carrots into thin long strips? If yes, how fine are the strips?

No. You will get porridge type mass with this. You need an Asian vegetable disc (MUZ45AG1 or something like that for your processor model) for strips.

Dieses Zubehörteil ist eine absolute Bereicherung für meine Bosch Küchenmaschine (MUM4/Serie 2)! Ich habe mir die Reibescheibe MUZ45RS1 speziell für die Zubereitung von Kartoffelpuffern und Rösti bestellt und bin begeistert. Das Ergebnis zählt: Die Reibescheibe erzeugt genau die richtige Struktur – feine, gleichmäßige Streifen, die perfekt für einen lockeren und knusprigen Kartoffelteig sind. Das ist ein riesiger Unterschied zum Zerkleinern mit der Universalklinge. Zeit und Aufwand gespart: Was früher eine mühsame Reibearbeit von Hand war, ist jetzt in Sekundenschnelle erledigt. Die Kartoffeln sind in kürzester Zeit verarbeitet. Qualität: Wie von Bosch gewohnt, ist die Scheibe aus hochwertigem, gehärtetem Edelstahl, scharf und sehr robust. Prima di acquistarlo chiesi se era valido per grattugiare del parmigiano stagionato. Le risposte non sono state chiare, ma dopo averlo provato devo dire che anche se stagionato lo grattugia davvero molto bene.
