Worked perfectly to remove a bolt that had a sheared off head
Recently I picked up an older 1999 Toyota 4runner from my buddy who had bought it new and finally bought a new car. He didn't want the 4runner any more and just gave it to me. I always like it so I thought this will be fun to bring back to like new shape. Truthfully it was really well maintained by my friend. But he had at some point backed into something and dented the left rear bumper corner. So I picked up a used one off of Ebay that I thought was painted the correct color. Well it arrived and I set it aside to wait until a bit warmer weather to remove and replace the damaged piece. After starting the project I learned the paint didn't match. So the drama began. Ordered pain etc. Prepped and painted the thing. Then guess what that color was wrong. So after a call to the paint place they helped me get the right color and shipped me a new batch. Okay part is painted and I finally get it bolted onto the car. Then I am in the final stretch and as I start to attach the wheel well flare piece that is part of the limited 4runner series on these years, I noticed I could not start one of the three fastener bolts? Upon closer inspection, I discovered the original fastener was still in the threaded hole and the head was broken off. Hells bells, now what? So off the part comes and I order a vice grip and some penetrating oil. Those arrive and the bolt is just stuck like it is welded! Mind you the piece isn't rusted. Well from here I tried a small tap and die set I had to no avail. I finally looked up on Youtube and saw you can use left hand drills to remove bolts with sheared off heads. So this was my last ditch effort before ordering a new part and more paint etc. BTW I am into this little repair for now about $180.00 so I am starting to think I should have just paid my deductible and had the insurance fix the little dent. But then this kit arrived. And I thought here goes nothing. Well shocker! I used the smallest bit first and got a good pilot hole started, then went in with the next larger bit. About 2/3 of the way into the bolt the bit caught and turned the rest of the bolt out of the hole. I was ecstatic! Hooray! This is just a great little set of very affordable bits that is a must have for any tool collection.

Handy Tool That Gets the Job Done
I used this screw extractor set to remove a couple of stripped screws, and it worked really well. It took a bit of patience, but the bits gripped nicely and got the screws out without damaging anything. The set feels sturdy and comes in a compact case, which is great for storage. A useful tool to have around for small repairs. Glad I bought it!

good grip after drilling and placing extractor. left hand threads
left thread drill bits and extractors. So drill bit will loosen a little in drill. need electric drill to get the rpms needed. work from small drill bit up to bigger. this worked for me to extract a broken toro blade bolt. the other type of extractor that are like sockets don't work because the metal is too soft on the bolt heads and they just slip off. will use anti-seize on my new bolt this time. tried all sizes of SAE and Metric sockets and wrenches and none would fit the extractor size I had tapped in with the hammer to grab in drilled hole. Had to use adjustable wrench and tap with hammer to finally be able to screw out the bolt.

With a little time and effort, I saved myself a lot of money
I snapped a bolt off on my outboard motor making my motor inoperable. The bolt controlled the resistance for steering and it was completely seized right meaning I couldn’t turn. I bought this extractor set and was able to successfully drill out and remove the sheered bolt! Some tips: use a regular drill (not impact) in its lowest setting. Once the hole is drilled, use the best fit extractor and tap it into the hole with a hammer to get a good seat. Then use a vice grip to manually back out the bolt/screw. The drill was too much torque and I had slipping problems until I went more manual with it. Worked like a charm once I slowed down

Great product!!!
Comes with a nice storage box and instructions. I used it on four broken transmission pan bolts and it worked great!!! The drill bits are very sharp. I definitely recommend this product.

Sucks. Too weak.
Drill bits were too soft and weak to actually go into the screw we were trying to extract. We used a different drill bit set to drill into the screw, then swapped to the extractors. The extractor stripped in the drill and didn’t actually have an impact on the screw. We ended up just drilling the screw out with the other drill bits that we already had. Horrible value, do not recommend.

Left hand bits, but right hand extractors
This set is probably as advertised, but the extractors are right hand extractors even though the drillbits are left-handed.

A must have for the tool set
Came in a great box and exceeded my expectation! Even came with some spare smaller bits and extractors. Worked great with my ryobi one+ drill. Had a broken screw in my rv ac shroud that broke. Bit and extractors wired first time and saved me a ton of money! Highly recommended this set for anyone to have on hand.
