Never had a router before so bought this to try it out. It works great and I'm really getting the hang of it's capabilities and limitations. Whilst also learning the best methods and techniques. Would definitely recommend.

I've never used a router so don't have anything to compare this to other than what I've seen on Youtube videos ('cos I do my homework before using a new power tool). It's a hand-held router. It's not expensive. I have now tried it out. My criticisms may apply to all cheap routers....and perhaps to expensive ones too. First - what arrived from Amazon... It comes in a wee plastic carry case. As is typically the case (npi) this does not account well for the cable and plug so a bit fiddly to put away. It comes with an edge guide, but not that this only works with innies rather than outies e.g. where the floor meets the skirting rather then edge of a table. It is not a precision fit. There is also a second guide which I've not worked out yet. This has a bearing/roller attached with a screw which prevents the bearing from turning. There are paper "instructions" which don't give a lot of information about how to use the device but cover compliance and basic maintenance. It came with 12 bits (none of which are a chamfer bit - which was what I needed). I don't expect these to be particularly hard wearing. After a couple of trial attempts, the colored plastic coating (yes, its not paint) was starting to come off the one I was using. But this is just cosmetic. The speed is adjustable in small increments. The collar/base plate included is rather basic. No quick release; the entire collar works like a big jubilee clip. Height adjustment is quite high geared / difficult to adjust finely. So far its had limited use, but I did get the impression that it heated up more quickly than I expected ... even for a cheap device. Although it doesn't have a nozzle for attaching a vacuum, that didn't seem to be much of an issue - it blows out the dust/debris as it goes (expect it to bit messy if used indoors). It does what I need and I'm happy with the price. If I were using such a device regularly I would be looking for something a lot more expensive from one of the big brands.

Got the job done I only wish the sliding guide was a little more robust..but you get what you pay for and didn't want to spend a fortune on a palm router so ok for the money

Bought this for routing hinges and locks in new doors, it did the trick without any problems even though I hadn't used one before, I'm impressed with how handy it is and how much time it saved me without using a chisel,so light and easy to use

This is an easy router to use it’s ideal for the jobs I want to do. I would 100% recommend this to anyone that needs a router for diy jobs.

The route is good, but the bits are not. The bits broke the very first time.

This was exactly what I needed! It has all the power and accessories I need for my projects, including the necessary bits. Super convenient, and a case to boot! Definitely a great value. Everything is pretty standard so if you've ever used a router before, or are familiar with basic power tools, it should be easy to get a handle on this. Obviously this is not a heavy-duty router so please take your time with your passes. But honestly this will get the job done for most home projects. Love it! Happy shopping!
