Great for practicing putting stroke. Helps keep putter square during entire put. Speed of put is average, not too fast or too slow. The slope at the end encourages a firmer stroke that is too strong to emulate faster greens. Overall a good practice device.

First, let’s be honest people.. any putting mat is not a substitute for a real green; a mat should be used to develop a repeatable stroke that gets a ball rolling end over end. Bc the reality is that real greens are much longer and wider, they have undulations, they have pitch marks and they have way too many things out of our control that a putting mat just can’t train us for. We just need something convenient to use inside while we’re working from home.Anyway, I chose this Perfect Practice V5 Compact mat for a few reasons:-setup/storage is quick and easy. I’d guess it’s about 3 mins to put away and 1 min to assemble-Having 8 feet of space is plenty for me, especially for my smaller apartment-1 hole is good enough, just like my wife says. I prefer to focus on 1 hole..an extra hole would be distracting and either way, I’m just working on my stroke and seeing those balls roll straight. Maybe in the future, I’d wish I could stroke it into the other hole but I’m happy with the 1 I have-I love the ball return. Now, I don’t have to waste any effort walking back and forth, I can stay where I am and just hit ball after ball after ball-The quality is great too. No kinks in the mat, this thing is essentially a thick (but not tall) mousepad that rolls out very flat. Its smooth, the grass is just a printAll in all, I’m super happy with this purchase. I’m looking forward to frequent, long sessions just stroking it into that tiny hole and watching these balls perform the way god intended them to. 5 stars!!

I bought the XL because I had the room, but the room is carpeted, which I think makes it a bit harder to get the mat to lie really flat. If you have concrete or hardwood floors this might not be as much of an issue. I've been working on it for the past couple weeks and have gotten it so the ball rolls pretty straight. Rolling it up tightly the opposite way from how it came was of help, and so did lightly spritzing the mat with water then ironing on a 4 setting.The tilted end and ball return feature are Must Haves in my opinion to really enjoy and use a lot. After practicing on the carpet with 5 or 6 balls always getting in each other's way, this feature is GREAT! Super easy to set up and once the mat is flat it's fantastic to practice on. The lines allow you track both your putting stroke and the ball's path to the hole. I'm pretty new to golf but looking for ways to improve. I've been using this for about 2 weeks and It's already helped me develop a more consistent, comfortable stroke and better feel for distances. Every time I walk by I hit a few putts, or maybe 25. I live where there's snow 6 months a year so It's great to have something fun to do during winter!!I would recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their putting game or doesn't have good access to practice greens.UPDATE: After a few weeks I've realized that you need to be careful of using the scale of feet on the mat to judge putts on an actual course. Because of the ramp, you have to hit the ball WAY harder to get it into the hole than for an actual putt of the distance shown on the mat. The last 1 foot of ramp is like another 8 feet further you have to hit it to make it in, which I think is misleading.

I've used many of the popular putting practice matts, and although nothing compares to practice on the course or at a range, this is a great practice matt for at-home use in smaller spaces. The fact that it only takes up about 1 ft. x 1 ft. of space when rolled up is particularly helpful for storage when not in use - and it comes with a storage bag, which is a nice feature. The ball return strip also rolls up nicely and works surprisingly well.The only downside is that when it's unrolled, it takes a little while to be completely smoothed out, meaning that the matt stays wavy unless you flatten it out with something (I used some old textbooks and that eventually worked). The matt does have a couple of Velcro strips on the bottom, but even when set up on carpet they don't really help.

I was skeptical at first, but my putting had definitely improved. This helps develop a consistent setup, strike, and end over end roll. I find myself paying more attention to break and speed with more confidence that I will hit it on my target line.

This is a fun thing for putting practice. I like the little hill that's built in to simulate what you might actually encounter on the green. I also love how easy it is to set up. The track for the balls to return to you is really easy to assemble because the parts have magnets and just stick together. It would be really easy to travel with for this reason. I also like how there are two options for holes - one larger easier one, and one that is more of an accurate size. I've gotten lots of compliments from guests on how much they like putting on this!

So easy to assemble and it is fun to play with. My husband loves this but the whole family joins in on the fun. It does not come with a putter, most pictures show it with one so I didn’t order one but you will need to get a putter as well.

The magnetic polarity of the last piece was incorrect resulting in last piece not able to connect to the rail. Also the paint on the wooden pcs was chipped.

Well made, great fun and challenging. Bought this as a gift for a keen golfer and he loves it!
