L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference Color Care System Dark Ash Brown

Package arrived as expected. The color is brilliant, such an empowering yet settle and calm yet modern shade of dark brown and the hair looks considerably healthier and shinier. The paint had some downsides such as being too liquid therefore hard at application along with extremely strong suffocating ammonia smell. Beside that, the results are absolutely gorgeous.

This colour is neither ashy nor dark. I have naturally dark ashy hair and for a while now have been using nice n easy’s ‘darkest natural brown’ but found that it still left warm undertones in my hair which was noticeable as soon as my roots grew out even a tiny amount. Was really hoping this colour would solve that but unfortunately it was MORE orangey than my previous colour and definitely a lighter brown. I’m really surprised by the other reviews here saying that it’s the perfect cool and dark colour, almost feels like I was sent something different! Anyway it didn’t work for me, will need to re dye with my previous colour.

Definitely not long lasting. The quality of this brand has changed big time. Not the same as it used to be. The color washes off quickly! Not ash as well. Lots of red tone.

The new formula is casting red even for the ash shades. Terrible!

I am 41 years old, and my hairdresser says I am 30% gray. Ugh! I can't stand gray hair, and although I love my hairdresser, I am not spending money to get my roots touched up every few weeks. I have a balayage with caramel and my dark brown natural (now naturally grey) on top. I see the grays coming and I run and order this product. I do my hair a little differently. I have a bowl, and a hair dye brush. I mix the dye in the containers, and pour out in the bowl. Put the back of my hair (the part that is caramel) up in a hair band and use the brush to color my roots, and the hair on the nape of my neck. I keep on for around 30 minutes, then wash out in the shower. If I didn't use the brush, I would probably ruin my balayage, and I don't want to do this. If you are looking for a root touch up and you have additional color or highlights in your hair, I suggest using this product, but purchasing an additional hair color brush and little mixing bowl. They have root kits, but I find they don't work the same. I swear by this product and absolutely LOVE the conditioner it comes with. No one thinks I do my own touch up, as this product produces professional results! And for less than ten bucks? You can't beat this price! It would cost me over $100 to go to the salon every 4-6 weeks for a touch up. This product is a life-saver and money saver!
