Operator error on my part
Initially thought it was the steel, but I guess it's a quench speed on my end causing it not to harden. Did a water quench and break test. Looks good to me. Will be buying again.

Definitely not 1084 steel.
Definitely not 1084. I did a test quench at 1500 into P50. Ended up with a Rockwell of 51. It did not break when i put it in my vice and bent it. That's at best a medium carbon steel. It will not etch dark. Total waste of my time and money.

Some peaces not straight

Came straight, grinds okay. Heat treat was weird
I didn’t have any issues with the steel showing up warped, ground down and worked just fine otherwise. Because of my inexperience I’m having issues heat treating this, but I’m not sure if it’s a me problem or the steel problem.
